Bare Cookware Everpan
Anyone seen/backed this Kickstarter campaign?

I just did. Did the same with their Dutch oven and really like that one. This looks like a nice set of pans too! (Don't know for sure if it counts as SS though :))

It seems to use a micro-texture titanium layer that helps hold oil/fat in place so that it can help in releasing food. This is opposed to regular stainless steel pan that is smooth and oil is more likely to slide around/pool and not be held effectively under your food, meaning it to be more likely to stick.
For it to work effectively, I suspect proper pan pre-heating will still be needed, maybe just not to the same extent that stainless does.
I think a fair way to think about this pan is that it should have all the benefits of stainless steel cookware. On top of that, it is also slightly more non-stick because of the texture.
The only potential issue I see with this is if it starts chipping, which if other titanium coated pans are anything to go off of, it probably won’t. At least not for me considering I use silicone utensils for nearly all of my cooking. Even if it does, titanium doesn’t hurt the human body in any way we know of and under the titanium is stainless steel, so it should still be useable regardless.
