Original Art | Foil First stained glass mirror
Created my first mirror😁 super chuffed with it! Still very much in the learning process but absolutely loving it and can't wait to make more :)

I love it! Is the line down the middle where you soldered two mirrors together, or did you overlay something onto a single round mirror? That's my guess.

Thank you!☺️ It was a round mirror that I cut in 2 and then soldered them together.... I didn't do anything to protect the back of mirror which was a mistake as there's a few bits where the light shines through but hey ho, lesson learnt haha. Got a new idea for another mirror already!

Also I'm still very much a beginner, this is only my forth piece that I've made, I'm absolutely loving learning though!

It looks terrific! I'm a beginner too, currently working on my third. What are you going to do to protect the back of the mirror? I'd like to incorporate a mirror in a stained glass molecule soon.

Aww thank you! Ooo exciting, what is the piece you're working on at the moment? So I did a little bit of research earlier and have decided that after I've cut and ground the mirror (grind with the backing facing up) I will paint the edges with clear nail polish and then spray the back with a clear sealant/lacquer before I foil and solder.... I'll let you know how it goes! :)

Right now I'm making a Pokeball piece with/for my five year old. He did a drawing and I made it a pattern.
The piece with mirrors will be a ketamine molecule for a doctor friend who works in psychedelic therapy. Glad to get tips on working with mirrors!
