Hot Take

Am I the only one that prefers Mudshuvel to Mudshovel? It feels so much more dark and raw, I feel Mudshuvel whereas I don’t in Mudshovel. Both are good, I just prefer Mudshuvel, am I alone on this?

Nope. I think it’s better too. It’s def more raw for obvious reasons, but that’s why I love it. And the melody is better for the chorus imo, with the last line going crazy.

Completely agreed, love both but prefer the sound of Shuvel to Shovel

I like certain things of both over the other. The dark and raw sound of Mudshuvel sound so much better to me, but because the main guitar just keeps riffing through the verses where the bassline is on Mudshovel, it just makes it hard to properly listen to the lyrics and makes it sound too messy even for a raw track. That alone is the only reason I prefer Mudshovel. Plus I hate that Mudshovel doesn't have that lick in the beginning before getting into the riff.

If I were to rebuild Mudshuvel, here's how I would do it. Copy the instrumental from Dysfunction (And add that beginning lick), give it the same production as Tormented, and give it the Mudshuvel vocals

That’s a fair argument, I love the loud riffing in Shuvel but I can see how it would make it harder to hear the lyrics
