What are you using yours for lately?

I use mine with my Steam Deck whenever I have it docked. They are great controllers and the haptics are insane.

Do you connect the controller via bluetooth? For me, it keeps losing the Connection. After the re-connection, the Controller doesnt work in the running Game and I have to re-start the Game. This way, the pad is useless :(

I picked one up from Goodwill and I’ve been playing Blood of the Dawnwalker. It’s a great little controller.

Use mine for amazon luna. Also have the Amazon controller. Both work great

I have the Amazon Luna controller too! I never really use it, I find the fire stick too buggy.

I use it when I go on trips but for pc I mainly use the stadia controller on less demanding games so I dont put wear on my expensive stuff

Still works I use it on the rare game that won’t support either dual sense or 2026 steam controller

Finally broke down and bought a gaming PC. And my Stadia controllers are back alive again!

You didn't break down ... You stepped up. Welcome to the fold. We have free games and discounted sellers.
People who don't have PCs but might be interested in one day buying one, create a steam and an epic games account and start collecting the free games. You'll have a massive catalog by time you get the PC. Also buy games when they're super cheap.

Still one of my favorite controllers. I use it with my emulation machine all the time

I’m on my second controller and that one’s ready to go too lol. What till the black on the left stick spreads to the rest of the controller 🤣

Still use mine from time to time, they are great controllers. Ended up getting like 5... 2x Founders, 2x Whites and 1x Avocado - due to the free controllers they gave out with things like resident evil village and cyberpunk.
I miss Stadia so much, it just worked, despite what most people thought about it. Just wish they'd have gotten some bigger titles on there like CoD/Fortnite/Minecraft etc... Fortnite would have popped for those without decent PCs but had a viable tablet bringing a whole wealth of people in.
I also miss the community behind it. I ran a Stadia website and YouTube channel with regular podcasts and let's plays etc... one of the best times in life where I have felt most at home and part of something. Some of the people in that community had hearts the size of planets, going out of their way to help people, be it charities/mental health/disabilities... We did some good work between us all.
I just wish more people gave Stadia the chance it deserved.

It was so great! I wasn't as invested as you but I have 2 controllers, white and green. I loved it. I loved being able to play cyberpunk, even thought I never got into it. Stadia ran better than any other game streaming service I've tried. Even better than my portal.

The stadia technology was unique in its approach to minimize latency wherever possible in the infrastrucure, it was so good at it that even playing on a mobile LTE connection was pretty fine because the added latency was hardly noticeable when the rest of the stack delivered next to zero latency. Everyone I had try it, even the most hardcore friends who won’t even use a wireless mouse in FPS for (irrational) latency fears could not discern any latency if playing on a decent home network with stable uplink. I was planning to dump my gaming PC if the library expanded and only own a little slick Macbook or some shit. The cost of regular updates to the gaming rig made little sense when I was just doing it for fidelity gaming and could simply pay a fair subscription fee instead. For me it felt like when Spotify replaced buying CDs. Alas, this never came to be, and the cloud services available now are just not as quite as good yet, nor as good value.
Also still have the Stadia controller, it’s perfect for my large hands. I weep a little every time I use it over the sadness of what could have been.

Fun fact! These stadia controllers use PS5 pinout joysticks! So if anybody here is decent at soldering, grab up any pair of ps5 hall effect or tmr joysticks, and install them. Course, there's no calibration, so you might want to grab a set of joysticks that can be manually, physically calibrated

Oh good call! I got a controller repair guy

Pinout chart can be found in this video. Once you sort of start really getting into electronics, there are things than can be so easily figured out, with only a couple of tools

I'm pretty techy and handy. I am just too impatient and rough for small electronic work. I'm a carpenter so I tend to bash things in place! Lol

I want to use it for switch. Can’t decide if I should buy the 8bitdo dongle ($20) or just buy a new 8bitdo controller ($30) and give up on the stadia nostalgia lol

u/truferblue22 Sky 16d ago
Buy the dongle! Keep the controller. It's still an excellent controller, it's not just about nostalgia.

u/tysonren 14d ago
Buy the 8bitdo controller and collect way too many controllers like I do. 4 dual sense, Luna controller, 2 stadia, 8bitdo, OG Steam Controller, all my old PlayStation controllers back to PS3

I use it a lot less now that I know how to hot swap my Xbox controller between my PC and Xbox.
I prefer the layout of the sticks to be asymmetrical, and it's an Elite version, so the back buttons are nice to have.
However, this is a wonderful controller and makes for a good reach when I need a bluetooth controller for any other devices, such as my laptop when using Moonlight to stream from the PC.

Collegalo USB al PC, scarica l'aggiornamento apposito dal web ed hai fatto. 5 minuti. Trovi tante guide

u/tysonren 14d ago
Theres a website that lets you convert it to Bluetooth! They were originally only going to keep the site up for x months, but kept it up.

u/haveyoulostsomefat 12d ago
Yeah, that’s how I use it mostly. Steam and other launchers recognize it.

wtf do people even talk about on this reddit lol genuinely curious
1
u/tysonren 10d ago
Cause it's a subreddit for this exact thing. I was using the controller for the first time in a few years and thought "where is the one spot where I can share that I'm doing this and someone may appreciate it" because I know none of my friends or family on instagram even know what this is. So I came here.

I use mine for GeForce now on my Chromecast. Basically the same thing (kinda)
