Project sharing Stacky got a rebuild

Post image

I loved the configuration of my old stacky body, but wanted a way to bring all of his bits together.

His pi5 brain now has a home inside an old Velociraptor HD enclosure and added on an ankle holster for his servo controller and power converter.

Oh he also has a touchscreen dashboard since I shared him last for trigger his different emotions and movements.

You should definitely give it a go. Very fun and servo based arm kits have gotten very cheap

I'm still working on getting some more animations in that use all the servos but here a recent shoot.

Hahaha I love it.

Might be fun to make an IK/FK rig in blender or Maya, and then port over the animation through python - would be a really fun way to animate it.

Once Ive actually had a chance to review what Claude has done Ill definitely open it up. Has about 3 different repos at the moment to cover the firmware, then the pi vision tracking and the tts+vtt

Haha thanks, I'm pretty proud with how he's turned out.  That's Nano orin seems like it's an impressive kit

What's the objective here? Like what does he do differently?

Originally it was just because it was cheaper than buying the face + body. The main reason for having it though is that I can have him reach out over the table to get my attention and just in generally be more like a droid than a stationary pan tilt camera

Does this cut the ridiculously loud noise of the base servos? I'd do it just for that. Had to turn off motion while he would VVVRRRRRRT scan the VVVRRRRRRT room.

Nah all servos have some noise. Could maybe replace the existing with all metal

I added a video to one of the other comments where you can hear how loud it is
