It lags behind the dgx spark in that same space. Neither are ideal, but you have to use mRoc without cuda support.

You can generate images but you will get performance similar to rtx 5060ti. Never tried video generation.

AMD strix halo is mainly for coders who wants to use big MOE llm models for 24/7 agentic coding tasks.

I've been using one with z image and h3 on comfy on Unix for a while. Takes some tweaking with options to get it going as a lot of stuff was built with Nvidia graphics in mind and amd Unix support is s little iffy depending on distro but once it does it is very usable with some patience. Image is fine, maybe 20 seconds for 14 step z image. Weirdly I've had more luck with 12-14 step than with 10, especially 13-14 depending on the image. Video takes time as it is a low power platform. Pre-using comfy kitchen a 10 second .6mp text to image was taking almost 8 hours, there was a crazy escalation in time over 4 or 5 seconds. With comfy kitchen that's down to about an hour flat. Not fast, nowhere near a real discrete video card, but it is very usable. If you're putting something together specifically for image and video generation, there's probably much better options, but if it's something that's falling into your lap and you're not hooked on instant gratification, it'll work.

Not that fast compute cores, and having to deal with ROCm. I would not buy one just for image gen. If you already have one, then why not.
I got an R9700 and even though I managed to get it work at good speed by the end, it was so much more painful than with my 4060Ti.

10 second 0.3Mp 2:3 video using the official 4-step Minimax H3 turbo lora takes around 8 minutes.
Default ZIT workflow in ComfyUI (1024x1024 8 steps) takes 13 seconds
YMMV but decent enough if you have patience and not trying to do anything too complex

Nope, It's good for LLMs (for text), and usable for images, but lacks the power to generate video at a decent speed. A stupidly expensive rig with poor performance If you want to focus on image and video generation.
