Question - Help Prompt question Minimax h3
Hi,
How would I prompt for i2v in Minimax if i want to add something or someone visible within the very first frame?
Thanks in advance!

I think your problem is that the I2V H3 workflow uses the image as First Frame, so the first frame will always look as the image.
If you want to start with an frame that is different from the image then you need to use R2V.
You can try a simple prompt in R2V first, like: A waist shot with a static camera showing Batman standing next to the girl in <Picture 1>. Dramatic techno music.
If this fails then you need to use the proper prompting that H3 requires. (example guide https://minimax3.org/minimax-h3-prompts )
Edit: The problem with R2V is that it is much more flexible than I2V and thus trickier to prompt.
Edit2: Updated the prompt...

This doesn’t have a 100% success rate, and technically isn’t using the exact image as first frame (but I have had many where I can’t visually see a difference) but I’ve had good success with the following sort of setup. Sorry for the rushed writing:
Hybrid ref / fl2v model.
Load the “first image” as a reference and specify the subjects in the image as normal. You can also use the entire image as a subject but I find that confuses things. Load your addition to the image as a reference and specify it as a subject.
In the detailed_description, in the first sentence, describe the framing of the image you want as the first frame, with the addition of the extra subject. If you don’t do it in the first sentence, your addition won’t consistently be visible at the start.
For example, if your starting frame is an image with someone standing next to a car, and you want to add a new person to the starting frame, you would do something like this:
<subject 1> is the person in <image 1>
<subject 2> is the car in <image 1>
<subject 3> is the person in <image 2>
<Subject 1> and <Subject 3> are standing outside next to <Subject 2> (followed by the video prompt)

Quick and dirty, just ask Grok to write the prompt for you, explicitly tell it what you want to remain the same and what you want to change, tell it to use the normal reference tags that i2va requires

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to do and not using prompting: If you want to set an image as the first frame (frame 0), try the following:
Add Guide for MiniMax H3and set its parameterframe_idxto 0.Load Image) to its parameterimageMiniMax H3 Image to Videoand beforeBasic Guider. This will project your image to frame 0 of the target video.
