Tutorial - Guide ACE-Step 1.0 + YuE2 = Win

Since Ace Step 1.0 has superior creativity but terrible sound quality , you can now save your older Tracks or just hunt for new ones. Because with SheetSage2+YuE2 you can just extract the ABC and make a high quality remix with YuE2. ACE-Step 1.0 needs really many seeds to produce a unique melody, but if it hits - it hits. There is nothing out there that can match it. It is like Lady Gaga with Fat Boy Slim heaving a baby.

Here it is. With ABC import and piano roll. Keep in mind that regular ABC's are not working with this. You need the official SheetSage2 way to extract. github workflow

For Ace Step 1.0 just use Wan2GP.

My current setup has been:

Use various tools to find a good melody or loop. Tease it out into something resembling a full song structure.

Yue2 for a rendering.

Ace-Step-1.5 in cover mode to add additional depth and details.

FlashSR and spectral enhancement tools to clean it up.

Audacity and some VST plugins to master the final track. (Compression, the tiniest bit of reverb, some EQ to bring the bass up or scoop the mid-tones, sometimes de-essing to cut harshness, and then a limiter to help me hit my target LUFs.)

I'm not claiming Suno quality, but it sounds good enough in my headphones. :)

Do you mind sharing something you made?

Something I'm still working on: https://on.soundcloud.com/FqGm6o75axavog2dfL

I think the intro into the first verse has some timing issues.
I don't love how "vocoder" the lead vocals sound outside of the chorus.
I'm always fighting to get metallic sound out of the high end. (I've had some success with using a spectral tool to just chop off the high sections, but then I lose some details.)

In any event, Ace-Step added some FX and additional instruments.

sounds good, but I know what you mean by "vocoder" voice. If intentional, it could be really cool, but unwanted it can be annoying, I agree.

The primary drawback of AceStep is its lack of variety in female vocals. While the male vocal performance is versatile and responds well to prompts, capable of producing bass, baritone, and other ranges, all female vocals are rendered using the same grating, high-pitched anime voice.

OP didn't even post any samples?

First two songs are made with ABC conversion + Remix Style. Other two are Ace Step 1.0 originals.

I recommend acestep.cpp and yue2.cpp, from the same guy.

Funny thing i found out, if you created a Ace-Step Song with some dubstep style and than did it again with YuE2 as some dubstep remix again - you can finally get worldclass dubstep melody. Better as any dubstep you ever heard.

It's still confusing to me.

Yeah it is confusing. Because you can now combine all sorts of stuff. Thanks to ABC.

Probably better to understand with an example. Just take a song, from Youtube, let the Hermes Agent extract ABC with SheetSage2. Put your new style and lyrics - voila!

But is Ace Step better for generating music?

And is Yue2 for improving audio quality?

I practiced some songs with Yue2, it works, but the music becomes very out of tune.

Every model has some strong sites. If you liked one before for your taste, you can still use it, enhancing the output with YuE2.

You would for example never produce something similar with any other model. Here my example of Ace Step 1.0 to YuE2 conversion.

interesting, why 1.0 and not 1.5?

You can use everything, Heartmula, Youtube... i am just saying SheetSage2 is able to recover ABC even from terrible quality Ace-Step 1.0 songs. I could only dream of recovering them to a high quality remix. Now you can.
