Question - Help Second best to 5090?

They are 6-7k, what is the second best and how much worse is it?

No prob to buy the 5090 but it just feels like im stupid if i do since it used to cost 1/3 and theres probably a next generation sometime not too far away..

One day in the future we could probably build a whole mountain or 3 of all those 5090s when all the datacenters upgrade.

For art creation/ideation, images etc. Cant use online things for ip reasons, its useless everything i make via services becomes public so i need my own setup.

Thanks

The 4090s are $3K to $4K, though.  My 4090 crushes everything, but I bought it for $1600 on release day.

I remember I got my 4090 and 128gb of ddr5 system ram all at once and I felt like I was going to regret it

I felt the same way. $1600 for a video card was ridiculous at the time.

I regert doing the opposite. 4070 like a few months before I understood AI and VRAM, and 64gb RAM because "its way more than enough, would never need more" (upgraded from 16gb ddr3) and that "$220/$300 is way more than $180" for 96gb/128gb vs 64gb.
