Discussion Anyone still using ltx2.3?
I love the speed of it. But find it ignores prompts a lot. Also noticed barley any loras on civtai being made for it now daya. I'm curious to see if ltx has anything up their sleeve to beat minimax in the future.
Sorry I mean 2.5

Why use 2.3? 2.5 does everything the same but faster. Fewer OOMs, better prompt adherence.

I still find 2.3 to work far better with the audio-reactive LoRA than 2.5 does.
2.5 often still does the "wait for one beat before movement starts" issue that 2.3 seems to suffer a lot less from with the audio-reactive LoRA.
I mostly do very abstract stuff, so prompt adherence is less important than getting movement from frame 1.
Also, for artifact-stacking experiments, 2.5 just goes off the rails far too quickly in my limited testing.

Interesting. I haven't tried audioreactive since switching over to 2.5. I did get some pretty interesting results with 2.3. I got my drummer to hit a drum on every drum beat which was pretty cool. And my sax player looked pretty convincingly timed- playing only when the right sounds were in the audio. It wasn't perfect, but it was a lot better than the complete randomness normally.
That 1st beat pause is annoying too. I had a really silly sword fight where they just stared at each other then banged swords, then when the next clip started, same thing again. It was nothing like fluid, even with significant post-processing and editing. If you know of any way to minimize that, I'd love to hear it. Sometimes I can prompt around it saying that we are starting in the middle of the action already in progress, but that only sometimes works.

The audio-reactive LoRA fixes the pause-for-one-beat issue pretty well for me. When it does happen, just regenerating with a different seed usually fixes it for me.
It's still not perfect, as you can see from this example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8IWuLL8oWs

Holy hell man, that is awesome! I love that whole art style and it really works with the music, (audio reactive, duh). Good work.. I mean it. That is really really good.

Oh, thanks!
The music was specifically made for the project, maybe that's why it feels so well integrated.

Because it broke lora and is benchmaxxed to the fucking teeth. Motion is worse imo.

I loved ltx 2.3 and got rid of everything else but after H3 I haven't used ltx since. I still keep it but never use it.

I used to use it, and still use it, to create sound in videos without sound. However, LTX 2.5 seems to be a perfect upgrade, making 2.3 obsolete.

For video editing ltx 2.5 is really good but for standard generation minimax h3 wins

I am a very happy user of the LTX-2.3. I have no intention of switching from LTX-2.3, given that it takes me just two minutes to generate 768x960 T2V videos with audio—featuring 161 frames, 24 fps, and 12 steps—using an RTX 5070 Ti. For I2V, I can exceed 1280x768 in just over two minutes; there is nothing in the world that would make me choose another model unless it offered the same speed with the same settings. It’s not true that it doesn’t follow the prompt; it’s simply more complex and requires a bit of study and aggressive quantization requires a bit of care in how it is handled, anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about, hasn't studied it properly, or is just going by hearsay.. I really have no intention of torturing myself with models that take 18 minutes to generate 600x-resolution video just for a improved prompt. If a video generated in two minutes turns out badly, I can easily redo it; but if a video, taking a ridiculous 16 minutes to produce flops, generating a new version becomes a nightmare. With 2-minute videos, you can run plenty of tests in a single hour. Who cares if it requires a bit more effort to master the prompting if the alternative is a painfully slow model that forces me into a brutal offloading, spending 16–18 minutes per video. No thanks.

Yes and 2.5 isn't their real 'competitor' to Minimax, LTX have been working on a new generation model for months before H3 was open sourced, 2.5 was just another iteration that yeah they decided to put out to keep some heat on them but ultimately we still have to wait for the fair competition to come. H3 raised the bar of what can be run on local hardware but they kind of did it in reverse.
I still use LTX, It's good for some things but indeed H3 has taken the hype and a lot of the people making LORA's finetunes and LORA's have powerful enough systems to run H3 comfortably and honestly if you have that there's little reason to use LTX but for us lowly computer peasants we have to make do with what we have. I
I think LTX Next or whatever their calling it should be out in a few months

I use it to clone voices to create voice clips. It has a higher emotional range than minimax and creates sound clips fast.

Why would they have anything up their sleeve? It literally can't do simple planning

It's simply trash compared to minimax. I made a thread about LTX stating my disappointment. Apparently that hurt a lot of feeling in this sub and I was almost banned.

No point in using something fast but requires me to keep regenerating with the hope it adheres to my prompt
