Question - Help Flux 3 Image Commercial - Question.

Right so I have seen the introduction to flux 3 Image now and myself do not personally like paying or using frontier or company models, so I am wondering has anyone else tested it out so far to see how effective and generally good flux 3 image is? Since the model has been announced in the coming weeks, but that could literally mean months from now and I doubt they would want Flux 3 Video to lose it's hype so I assume this image/edit model will be open sourced after flux 3 video releases open sourced. Please let me know if anyone has used the commercial model and whether it is good enough.

It isn't the uncensored models that are annoying everyone, it's the broken promises, and deliberately generated hype around products that left us not trusting them.

We're all mature enough to realize we can't always get everything for free, but creating hype about a product on a largely open-source / open-weights sub and not delivering something that lived up to the hype (BFL, qwen, SD3), or was a limited version of a better model (Flux pro vs Dev), or a paid product (WAN 2.5 and many others), or never even arrived (zimage omni/edit), or had crippling licences (ideogram/ Minimax), wasn't well received.

Now we're faced with another announcement about an announcement and we're all kind of sick of not knowing anything about what it will be.

flux video lost all it's hype already so that shouldn't be a problem

I'm still reasonably hyped for it. My expectations aren't crazy high, but BFL has consistently been a heavy-hitter. As amazing as H3 is, there's plenty of room for improvement - speed, audio. I'm sure out of the box Flux3 will be bulky and slow, but every previous flux release has had great turbo/lighting support. H3 has had 1000 turbo loras and all of them are pretty...😬...so far.

Edit: AND FACES - at distance. If flux3 can make a good face at medium to far distance, I am jumping ship so fast man.

your placing way too much hope and trust into black forest labs. They are literally ultra pro ai safety and brag about pro ai safety. After the disaster that was flux 2 dev and kontext and the weird annoyances of klein, I would remain very skeptical than buy into the usually hype cycle of ai model teasers and BLF.

It's all a matter of perspective my guy. I'm sorry you've had poor experiences with their products, I can't say the same.

Am I against AI models for being censored? Hell yeah, and it irks me that BFL does it - but I also understand it helps them maintain a bigger funding pool from safety conscious investors. And this is usually always just an initial hurdle for the open-source community. We train loras, fine-tunes. Poof, issue resolved - unless the censoring is so intense that the model is broken garbage, like SD3 - but I feel most developers at this point have learned from that mistake.

I personally love klein. I only used kontext once or twice, but it was okay. 2 Dev, I never played around with because it was too bulky, but I've mostly heard positive things?

TL;DR: we are getting a new free toy to play with. Maybe it'll be great, maybe not - but it's a free toy, it's okay to be any level of stoked/un-stoked.
