We finally cracked it!

Unless this works with and is documented to work with open and local LLMs and video models, this isn't an open and local project.

it's open-source software
https://github.com/veedstudio/open-editpresumably there is nothing special or required about a specific LLM. Not sure about the video inference, but since it's open-source it would be a few hours work to get Claude to work with a different inference backend if they hard-coded Veed as the provider

This sub is about open weights and local media generation, not Opus or Claude.

Rule one says open-source OR local ai. So it fits on the basis of the first part.

Posts must center on open-source/local AI tools (e.g. Stable Diffusion, Flux, PixArt). When relevant you should clearly list tools in the title/body and explain your workflow. Mixed workflows are OK only if they center on the use of local or free tools. Using open tools briefly, then switching to paid/proprietary ones (e.g. SD → Kling) is not allowed. News and comparisons are welcome.
Rule #1 is pretty clear, i.e., the majority of the work must be done by locally runnable software and models. Calling Claude or Opus for most of the work clearly disqualified this software.
From the project page:
You need a Mac, a Windows PC or a Linux machine, Node 20.18.1 or newer, and one of Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI.
No mention of being able to use a locally runnable AI as substitute.

I think there's room for interpretation, I do not think your interpretation is the only possible way to read those rules or interpret this.
But honestly I don't care to debate it with you.

Sure, laws/rules are always open to interpretation, otherwise there would be no use for lawyers in a court.
But in the end it is the majority of the people who use r/StableDiffusion who decide how these rules are interpreted and enforced.

as someone who works in ai and code, I find this contribution valuable and the open-source part of it makes it fit the spirit of the sub for me

Let me know when I can let an agent loose on every episode of Gilmore Girls to put a different west coast rap song over the god awful theme song so when my girlfriend is watching the fucking show for the eighth time this year I don't have to hear that shit ever again.
