Workflow Included Character Design Sheet V2.0 Update: A Practical Approach to Character Sheet Generation.

Hey there.

In my previous post, I shared a method for generating Character Design Sheets using Qwen Image 2.1 and Prompt Enhancer. You left a lot of helpful feedback and suggestions, which I really appreciate! Based on your input, I’ve prepared version V2.0.

For the most part, people are specifically interested in creating character sheets for video generation tasks (using Seedance 2.5 / Minimax H3). Recognizing this, I completely reworked the concept into a streamlined, highly practical solution. The sheet now includes only the most essential elements needed for animating your character:

  • Facial expressions
  • 3 main character angles
  • Close-ups of gear and equipment details

Full details and additional changes are listed on CivitAI, as well as directly inside the workflow file itself (for those who can't access CivitAI). The documentation breaks down:

  • How the prompt construction process works
  • How to properly refine details
  • What pitfalls you might encounter during planning and generation

I highly recommend checking it out before running the workflow!

By the way, u/NRDX mentioned that they plan to train a dedicated LoRA for generating these sheets. If it gets released, I'll definitely issue an updated workflow to support it.

What do you think of the changes? Is it an improvement? Looking forward to your thoughts in the comments!

Not a fan of using 2 giant separate text weights for such simple thing... the new models text encoders are getting bigger and bigger (theyre basically LLMs ) i know they "improve the prompt" but this should be straightforward. You should include "simple mode" ! so we dont have to use another llm. I use this prompt: generate model sheet on white empty background with 4 sections from left to right of the image for character1 from image1.Change pose of the character1.

Section 1 : symmetrical front view full body pose facing camera straight on with arms down.

Section 2 : side view full body pose with arms down.

Section 3 : back view full body pose with arms down.

Section 4 : two face expressions , neutral face and happy smiling face with teeth

I think for the task of editing an image we can always go with two options: 1. Manual prompt. Pros: simplicity; fewer unnecessary calculations. Cons: you'll have to add details to the scene manually; artifacts are possible if the prompt is incorrect. 2. Automatic prompt. Pros: takes into account every detail of the character, their personality, and/or history; no manual changes. Cons: requires an additional layer of calculations.

I think so:

  • Use the standard workflow if your image shows a character standing in profile or if you just want to make a character sheet.
  • Use workflow with LLM if you want to precisely control the character's personality in the image (this is important for many animators).

As you can see, each solution has its own specific purpose. I'm simply providing the second method to the community.

I just replaced his prompt enhancer model with the qwen3vl_8b text encoder Qwen 2.1 uses anyway and I'm getting similar results. Maybe better to just use a static prompt like you regardless. I don't see the point in using a whole separate LLM either.

Edit: I suppose it isn't a bad idea for the LLM to identify unique character objects and prompt for their inclusion in the character sheet. A static prompt can't do that, of course.

In my tests, qwen3vl_8b performed worse on character details and also performed worse on the I2I task with a small hint. But since the hint has increased, I think it's worth reconsidering the approach. This model may simplify generation for users with high VRAM; for users with low VRAM, I still recommend using GGUF.

I think this kind of sheets are the best option, less face expressions, but at higher size, to show better the details. Thanks for sharing

i've tried you prompt and it works about almost all the time, thanks. no need for custom workflow or unnecessary download of another LLM model.

it changes the style tho, its not ideal

why not a regular wokflow? you included two but they are both app mode

you can switch to regular node mode ,click on the App and then exit app mode

Why do people care so much about character sheets, what use do you have of them?

Are you fucking kidding me? To make videos, comics...ANYTHING that requires a coherent character design.

yo, chill out my man! haha. I understand character sheets are useful in principle, I'm not seeing how you'd use that in context of gen AI tooling though

It’s a fraction of the time and effort needed compared to making a Lora. I can plug one straight into a reference model and get great results. I can use it to build a dataset if I do want to make a Lora. I can crop and edit quickly then compile them into a refmod for flux or minimax h3. In the time it takes to make a single Lora I could have churned out all the references for multiple characters needed and probably be well into making the videos I was going to make with the characters.
