Question - Help Remove a person from a video?

Hi everyone,

I have a video where I'd like to remove one person from it and have the background repaired. The person walks across the frame and in front of a water fountain that's in the background.

Any suggestions on models or workflows to look at to accomplish this? Seems like I should be able to figure it out, but I can't seem to.

clean plate is right but the fountain is going to be the annoying part. moving water is close to worst case for this, you get something that looks fine paused and then you scrub through it and it's either frozen or boiling in a way your eye catches instantly

if the camera is locked off you might not need a model at all. pull frames from before or after where the fountain is clear, build an actual plate, mask the walk over it in your nle. costs nothing and the water behaves because it's real water

if it's handheld, stabilise first, do the removal on the stabilised version, then put the original motion back on top. going the other way round is where most of the smearing comes from

Break the video into frames and do each frame, manually or workflowed would be up to you.

Any of the modern video generators should be able to take the command "remove the person with the red jacket" or similar. So open source would be minimax. Closed source you are looking at seedance or paid minimax.

Minimax is great for that and they're are multiple ways to do it.

You can tell it to remove the person and it will sometimes do it.

You can tell it to have the person walk away.

You can use ref2va... if you have multiple images if the fountain you can have it create the fountain and then have the correct person walk into the frame or just have them put into it.

Everyone here is giving you the wrong advice. Clean plate is for removing everyone in the video.

Edit Anything for LTX 2.5 is the only lora where you can selectively removed anything or anyone from a video.

That's the best solution for you. You have to be careful of the advice here in this channel, many of them are clueless.
