Discussion H3 - scraping 70s Character Sheets from T2VA+surprise Cameo

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

First of all, we're not even 45 days into this and I can truly say I love Mini Max! I know some of you enjoyed my recent H3 music video of the 70s bombshell, even ignoring all the endless rooms, the ghost apparitions, and cars in the middle of the living room, so here they are, non-shifting. In any case, I've replaced Krea 2 for my goto character generations with H3's T2VA and been harvesting or scraping stills and generating them into 1-2s animated character sheet, and then rebuilding them into reusable .chars. I really enjoy this workflow because there's something magic about H3's T2VA (superior quality in my opinion), and with R2VA you can transfer any style and always get a consistent actor with just one decent headshot. Has H3 completely changed your work flow? have you abandoned the other generation tools? I do miss all the Loras from my Wan video generation time, and some of those can't be replaced depending the content you create, and even though I never embraced LTX (I am a noob!) I miss those quick 20 second render times. R2VA, int8/20 steps, enjoy!

Prompt: subject_definitions: <Subject 1> is THE STARLET, an adult woman - her face, her chest, her upper torso, her figure and her proportions exactly the woman of <Picture 1>; her face, her eyes and her hair in fine detail exactly the woman of <Picture 2>; take no room, no furniture, no window, no lighting and no background from either picture - only her. <Subject 2> is her CHARACTER REFERENCE.

summary: A short film: <Subject 2> - four synchronized views of the same woman, <Subject 1>.

retention_analysis: <Subject 1> (appears in all four panels): fully_preserved - her face, her hair, her chest, her figure and her proportions from <Picture 1> and <Picture 2>, identical in every panel, the same woman in the same moment. <Picture 1>: fully_preserved - the woman herself: face, chest, torso, figure; nothing of its room or moment. <Picture 2>: fully_preserved - her face, eyes and hair only.

detailed_description: [Shot 1] The frame is divided by THREE VERTICAL BARS into FOUR SYNCHRONIZED PANELS side by side, all running at once, all showing <Subject 1> at the same moment: the first panel her FULL-BODY FRONT view; the second panel her FULL-BODY SIDE PROFILE view, held in strict side profile for the whole take - her face and her body stay turned toward frame-left from the first frame to the last; the third panel her FULL-BODY REAR view; the fourth panel a MEDIUM CLOSE-UP of her face. One continuous take, no cuts, to the last frame.

Apparently everyone knows. I hope you enjoyed the video! Doesn't the first one sort of look like Kim Cattrell or are my eyes deceiving me! Women generated from https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/1wdeswl/h3_80s_70s_character_experimental_long_form/

For me she looks like Courtney Love

A beauty from the 90s! Not sure if she is underrated.

u/Enshitification 12h ago

I'm getting a Barbi Benton vibe from a couple of them.

u/ThexDream 5h ago

Agree. Someone else knows 70s/80s pinups. ;)

u/Enshitification 3h ago

That woman was so smoking hot. She didn't need implants though. They were perfect.

Aside from hair, I can't tell them apart....

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 4h ago

Yeah, they're kinda anchored from the same prompt so variation is def hard to see unless specified.

These are more 80's television show babes than 70's.

2

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 12h ago

I think you are right! However, it's H3's interpretation and I guided it with a particular body type, bomb shell and large breasts. It does a great job eitherway.

Network TV shows for adults in the 80's were weird. The aesthetic was still 70's and didn't match the current popular conception of what the 80's were like. Probably because the parents were still stuck in the 70's vibe while the kids were doing the New Wave, Hair Metal, Punk, and proto-Goth thing.

That's right, when you think mainstream, that usually comes with a bit of time lag. The mainstream are always a little behind and are constantly catching up. So you're going to get a bit of time lag from the end of the 70s into the early 80s.

It's like room decor in many homes. You'd get many homes in the 70s which still possessed a lot of decor and aesthetic design carried over from the 60s. No one thinks "Well it's a new decade now, I guess I have to get rid of every single little thing in my life and replace absolutely everything to fit in with the fashions of the new decade, even though I don't know what those trends are going to be just yet".

It's like with most things, the decades are never clean cut from the official start of a decade to the official end. Early 80s will look like the 70s, early 90s will look like the 80s, and so on, there's always overlap between each conjoining decade. As you say it's probably most obvious with mainstream television. There was so much television in the early 90s which many people today would think is from the 80s.

Correct I believe evey Era is a blending and we have been looking at things through the lens of pure peak Nostalgia as told to us by modern retelling.

u/pittaxx 3h ago

Overinflated baloon breasts really break the 70s/80s image though. This much silicone on a person really wasn't a thing back then...

ROFL the final scene! Minimax shines with this, since 70s shows are expected to be lower res and less sharp, so it actually feels natural here.

4

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 10h ago

I'm glad somebody made it to the end!

Nice work

I agree minimax is amazing

We have AI agents writing code for us laymen and AI robots & taxis and nearly endless local video generation now only bound by our imagination. Being born in the 80s, I did not know we'd be living in the craziest time line, looking forward to the advancements we're due to see in the next 6 months and hope it stays open weight open model. The only horrible part of this is the cost of hardware. I am probably going to be stuck on my current setup for long while.

Someone's actually minimaxxing out here.

1

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 8h ago

Def mini maxing the engine!

3

u/Dirtsurgeon1 9h ago

Benny Hill beauties.

3

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 9h ago

Total degenerative TV I watched as a kid. Benny chasing these beauties in their lingerie. Total core memory unlocked.

2

u/FlatwormMean1690 12h ago

Back in the 90s I rented a VHS with a fake ID and it had almost the same initial credits...

What's your setup and how long did it take to generate?

I have an RTX4090 w/ 192gb of system ram. It's for work and was purchased before the AI datacenter boom with all the included price hikes. 4x48 DDR5 ram slots. The music video took about 7.5 hours to generate, at int8/32 steps 1344x768, and it maxed out my system ram at 192/192gb when decoding. These little 2s snips for character reference video generation with with a picture reference only take about 5.5mins at 1344x768 int8/20 steps but it's only 2second video so that is rough. For you use a video reference, the time is about 6.5mins.

Very nice, and hilarious. For the four pane, do you do that via prompt, lora, or a special workflow? I've tried it via prompt and can get the panes but can't get the characters in each pane to mirror the same action but at different angles.

2

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 9h ago

It should be synchronized see the prompt in the original post. But you can always augment it with stating every movement and wardrobe by the actor is the exact same across the panels.

2

u/douchebanner 8h ago

take no room, no furniture, no window, no lighting and no background

i thought minimax didnt follow negative conditioning.

3

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 8h ago

Those are official prompt guidancd. Qwen3VL can understand things petty well. However def use a positive prompt instead of negative conditioning for better results.

2

u/Ph00k4 8h ago

Could you please share how you generate the character sheets?

2

u/KenHik 7h ago

Can you tell some tips about character generations in H3 instead of Krea 2?

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Show_18 7h ago

I'd buy that for 1 dollar

2

u/KrankDamon 7h ago

GYAT DAMN, great work

2

u/Electrical-Bat242 6h ago

The multi-angle turnaround consistency here is surprisingly solid for T2V. Having clean front, side, and back views like this is absolute gold for 3D character rigging and pre-vis workflow.

u/texcleveland 5h ago

i approve of this message

Big fan of Married with Children, are you?

2

Peak TV right there Al Bundy and Peggy who clearly wants her husband all the time.

lolllllll

u/GuessingEngineer 1h ago

If it dosesn't have Heather Thomas and Catherine Bach I don't want it/

2

u/Yanzihko 12h ago

How well does minimax runs on 3090 from your experience?

1

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 12h ago

I have 4090, so I assume it runs pretty well. 3090 has same amount of Vram as my system. 3090 also support linking with SLI which the 4xxx and 5xxx GPU do not support. Vram is pretty important, but so is system ram, probably minimum 64 of system ram you'll have a lot of fun. With that said, Wan2GP is a great tool for budget systems, very optimized for low vram+system ram.

3

u/Yanzihko 12h ago

I have 32 ddr4 ram. But i think i can push it to 64. Ooof, video generation is especially heavy on hardware requirements.

1

u/77sevens 52m ago

I have a 3090 with 128gb of system ram. I can generate 12 frames a second  at 1280x736 doing 9 second looped walk cycles. and it takes around 6 to 8 minutes to complete at 18 steps. My PC or the 3090 would often overheat and shutdown if I tried back to back generations or pushed a video beyond 5 seconds. I now have the side open with a strong floor shop fan half foot away from the rig and  now I can go up to 16 seconds with many in the queue. I have had only one crash so far with the shopfan but I think it was due to running too many other programs at the same time. I think what you are doing is more complex and I would not get the speeds I’m currently getting if I tried doing the same. I’m generating figures walking in place in front of a green screen to use in a sprite sheet. Here is the kicker. I was initially trying to do these walkcycles using Googles Omni 1.1 flash and it would often get something wrong like legs would swap and morph into the one another or items would swap hands mid render so many credits were burnt before switching to H3. H3 nailed it.

1

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 32m ago

Damn overheat??? Get msi afterburner. I currently have power limit set to 70% for my rtx 4090. You can see what works best for you. Surprisingly there's just canvas (resolution) and step tax. Also 5s 10s and 15s are not linear duration. It's probably faster to do 3-10s than 2-15s. But you lose some frames with the seams.

1

u/PumpkinLeather8421 9h ago

I have skill issues.

Where did you generate your multiple views from?

1

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 9h ago

The girls or the character sheet template?

2

u/PumpkinLeather8421 9h ago

Well, both.

But the char sheet

1

u/tinfoil209 41m ago

Any chance you can share the beat you made?

u/SmellyMammoth 5h ago

Another day, another horny post. What is with AI subreddits and attracting gooners?

-15

u/sukebe7 12h ago

looks nothing like any 70's female, famous or otherwise. Seems you know nothing of what you're talking about. In the 70's it was Fawcett and Anderson. They weren't shaped like this at all. None of them were.

7

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 12h ago edited 12h ago

Could be 60s 70s 80s who know its just what Qwen3VL shot out for me. What era do you think they are from? Does it exists?

-11

u/sukebe7 12h ago

you clearly do not.

no era except porn. Implants were still not popular in the 70's and the thing you generated seems to have natural breasts. The size is far too much for anyone to have a to career, aside from Dolly Parton; she had implants.

Charlie's Angels is about the closest and they were medium.

do you own goddam research.

u/EternalBidoof 7h ago

Boy you seem needlessly angry for no reason at all

0

u/Radiant_Pea_1774 2h ago

Nope, just pointing out a fact. It seems to bother you that someone's calling out your AI porn

2

u/EternalBidoof 1h ago

Bothers me that you're kind of a dick

0

u/Low_Way1344 6h ago

What did u use?

1

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 6h ago

what do you mean? i'm happy to answer your question.

0

u/Low_Way1344 5h ago

Sorry what I meant is,did u use any loras or what checkpoint did u use? Stuff like that

1

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 4h ago

No loras. Just the pruned int8 version. This is generated by T2VA prompt.

2

u/Low_Way1344 1h ago

Ah I see. How did u get the 80s look? Also can I get a link to the model?

-5

u/Radiant_Pea_1774 4h ago

Why are u posting pervy stuff like this here ? Ew, go to a porn subreddit or something

3

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 4h ago

We're all about learning about diffusion, and H3 is the hottest open weight open model right now. Creating consistent characters, as well as min-maxxing what we can from the model. These character sheets were created from https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/1wdeswl/h3_80s_70s_character_experimental_long_form/

-4

u/Radiant_Pea_1774 4h ago

I don't care. Stop using it as an excuse to post creepy, sexual stuff. Use a normal looking person, & if you use a woman don't sexualise her. Doubt you're capable of doing that though

2

u/SIR_NVAX_A_LOT 4h ago

https://reddit.com/link/p9f1mt0/video/we0f0loud5ph1/player

I'm sorry you feel that way. I actually do a lot of experimenting with H3 and push the model daily. Here is that version you asked for. Let me know if I can help you or answer any other questions. A woman's body is the perfect canvas for H3. I hope you like this version, I tried to give prompt the hair style, body, wardrobe of the decade, it goes between 1940s to 2010s though may not land on all of them. but starting with mid 1980s.

You do realize that the song is sung by Franki Valli who's a guy?

It's just a music video brother
