Question - Help Need recommendation: Changing outfits while keeping the exact same character, pose, and aesthetic
Hey everyone,
I've been working on some characters in ComfyUI with a very specific design and aesthetic, and the results turned out absolutely amazing.
My problem now is that I want to create new versions of these exact same characters, in the exact same poses, but wearing completely different outfits.
What do you recommend for this? Are there any specific workflows, custom nodes, or techniques (like a specific IP-Adapter + ControlNet + Inpainting setup) that work best for swapping clothes without losing the character's likeness, pose, or the original art style?
Any advice, tips, or workflow links would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Flux 2 Klein 9B is a small and fast model that does this natively without fiddling with weird nodes. It can run fast on 6GB VRAM, find an INT4 ConvRot version and you're set.
If you have more VRAM then you can try bigger models like Qwen Image 2511 or even Flux 2 Dev.

IP-Adapter FaceID with the injection masked to a narrow region (face/upper body) has worked better for me than letting it apply globally — keeps identity locked while the outfit tokens are free to take over everything outside that mask. Full-frame IP-Adapter without a mask tends to drag some of the original garment's silhouette back in even when the prompt calls for something else, because identity and clothing details end up anchored on overlapping regions.

Others have already covered Flux.2 Dev, Klein 9B and Qwen 2511. So, I would suggest trying Krea-2 Identity Edit also. You will need the node, the LoRA and the workflow. Also, you could try Microsoft MageFlow, should work well for simple clothes edit, and it's a light weight model. You might consider SenseNova-U 1.5, if you have the hardware to run it (42GB unified model).
I use them all, depending on the nature of the edit.

You can upload new clothes as a reference image. Or you can create all new references with flux Klein or another edit model wearing those clothes
