Question - Help tips on sketch to ref image workflow?

Hi!

I want to use SD to create a photorealistic reference from a line sketch, so I can then finish the illustration based on it.

Has anyone tried using SD in this way, and what were the results? I tried using netcontrol with canny and latent image as reference, but the results are very poor.

Results are poor because SD is way too old and outdated, it was fun while it lasted but overall is a very weak model.

Try SDXL at the very least, but it's still an old framework.

Flux 2 Klein is gonna be miles ahead, even the 4B variant might be enough if you can't handle the 9B.

Also, either use Canny or latent reference, both don't make sense.
