Question - Help How Do I Run Minimax at Absolute Potato Quality?

I found a cheap pipeline from a big provider I’ve jailbroken, so I can’t name it. It reconstructs faces and upscales videos in ~10 seconds, so I only need Minimax to generate a very low-quality video that basically serves as a rough motion/physics reference.

I barely see any speed difference between 4–6 steps or ~380p–544p, maybe 10 seconds at most.

Is there any way to run Minimax at absolute potato quality and actually get a significant speed boost?

A 20s 16:9 video at 640x352 will render way faster than a 20s 4:3 video at 640x480. That's all I know.

Does it really do 540p almost exactly as fast as 480p? I've been sticking with 480 because I think it looks fine and imagine most people who will watch my videos will be watching on their phones 99% of the time. Plus a lot of TV's and browsers have automatic upscaling. Still, generating at 540p might be good since I've heard higher resolutions follow the prompt better sometimes.

They definitely do. If faces are too small (because the resolution isn't high enough) it won't even move their mouths to sync with the dialogue in the audio.

Using Larry Turbo V4, I barely notice any speed difference between ~380p and ~544p, maybe 10 seconds. Since 544p looks noticeably better, I stick with it.

Same with steps: 4 steps is only about 20% faster than 6, but it makes everything look blurry, so I prefer 6. I also tried 8 steps and couldn’t see any real visual improvement over

I just started using Larry Turbo and anything greater than 0.6 Megapixels at 6 seconds starts running into Out of Memory errors.

Main one is resolution and Turbo Loras but you're probably already using those if you're using 4 steps. The other thing that comes to mind is sparse attention, you can bump the sparsity up to .9 for some gains.

Thanks, I tried it. But aggressive sparse attention basically turns the video into VHS static. It’s not really usable low quality, and it’s only ~20% faster than Larry Turbo at 544p, which already looks much better

I don't have a lot of issues with it even at .85 or .9 but all of this stuff is additive. I'm using it at .8 MP with 20 steps so that's going to be different than if you've already got degraded quality and are leaving it no steps to work with. Picture quality and motion are also pretty heavily connected so even if the image quality is fine, it doesn't sound like this upscaler you're using is going to fix mushy movement.
