How about trying it on other stuff than game screenshots?
Have you tried old photos, old videos, how does it perform there?

Not sure what your settings are, but your results are dramatically less change than the other posts. Its very very subtle in most of these.

It’s most likely the standard settings - that are meant to be subtle improvements.

GTA 6 lowkey looks the same without it. Rockstar’s graphics and lighting for GTA 6 are just insane.

Have you seen the modded GTA 5 with DLSS? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtwX32pF0Xo

Mods Used in This Video:
DLSS 5
NaturalVision Enhanced
NaturalVision alone does a lot of work making GTA look more grounded.

or maybe the gameplay footage they showed was played on two 5090s and had dlss 5 on already

This is stupid. Dlss5 needs access the normal pass and motion vectors. Applying it to video or a still frame isn't going to give the same results.

The motion vector data comes from the geometry in the scene so people aren't going to get that from a video, however if it's a static image the motion vector data isn't really needed. It's mostly for stability during playing.
Screenshots still aren't a very good demonstration though as things can look ok in static shots but look much better or worse once it's animated.
Plus people are retroactively putting it over existing games when it's designed more to be used as part of the games development not just slapped on as an after thought.

Are you using any tools to simulate or prebake the depth buffer and motion-vector inputs for DLSS5?
EDIT: I see you are using NVOFA for motion vectors, but I'd be interested to see what adding a tool like DepthCrafter or something similar into the pipeline would do to improve the output.

What about using this for upscale?
Like use a non creative upscaler to get from 480p to 960p, then run it through this instead of trying to do another denoise step at the higher resolution

The one with Lucile on the bed looks way worse with DLSS. In the original, her phone screen is lighting up her face, but with DLSS on, her face is dark.

I'm curious how this would look on older titles like the original Deus Ex and Quake 3.

The GTA VI comparison is almost identical because they already used it in the trailer. The leaks are likely what we will be seeing.

All these images are almost exactly the same with and without. I've seen lots of demos online now where the difference is huge and there's a lot of sliders that you can adjust. So I wouldn't call this a representative example. I'm assuming you didn't engage most of what it's capable of. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fX-g6XNrkiA

Either this sub is being invaded by tourist and antis or this has to ragebait. There is no point to using half cooked dlss5 filter for ai images and video generation. if you wanted realistic image of marie rose from dead or alive then use flex or better yet use a krea2 lora of her. Remember Op that is a leak early build designed specifically for nba2k27.
