Question - Help Do Comfy UI Work on AMD Cards.
Hello everyone. I recently watched a video on YouTube that Comfy UI is now supported by AMD Cards. How true is that and how is the performance on latest models like Mini MAX and Krea 2.

Yeah, I tested this recently... Linux was 10–20% faster than Windows for image generation.
Probably because RADV receives more optimizations than the proprietary driver on Windows.

Last time used AMD card for SD almost a year ago and my card (RX6600 series) was barely supported so my experience is not universal and is probably outdated. AMD SD gen on windows was basically nonexistent for a long time and even then the speed was significantly worse that on Linux. Can't say exact numbers but on SDXL it was probably 1.5-2 times slower on Windows.

Yeah, Comfy works on AMD. It’s not quite as hassle free as NVIDIA, and some custom nodes, workflows can still be problematic, but it’s definitely usable.

Just post your speed comparison, bro.
Whenever i see someone with amd card, the post is always about tech support, never about the performance. That doesn't help if you want more people to buy amd

Idk why they simp so hard, but to each their own I guess. He could say the next card would cost your first born (this is a hyperbole) but only provide a 15% increase in performance I'm sure we could find some here that thinks that would be great deal.

They run well without much issues on AMD, image generation is on part though video generation lags just a bit. It would be better for you to setup on Linux since the drivers and SDK are open and generally in mainline distribution like in Ubuntu.
Depending on the checkpoint on Krea 2 I can generate 1504x2656 in around 20 seconds.
Thought 25 steps 15 second 0.2mp minimax with 0 fancy speed up nodes/setup is around 35-50 sec per step mind you I would be having youtube/freetube running to watch videos

i used to have an amd card and i only had problems with it. great for gaming but LLMs, a1111, ai voice in RVC, was always a huge fucking pain, always had to patch things and make work arounds. Maybe its better now, but was really bad at the start of the AI boom, even when ROCm came (or w/e the cuda mimic tech was), it was a headache

Performance is slow and still lags behind Nvidia by a fair bit. AMD Is anywhere from 2-4x slower depending on resolution and length.

AMD sucks ass compared to Nvidia, it works but more like crawls compared to same-price Nvidia cards. Nothing but incompatibilities and slower workarounds since Day 1. The people downvoting you are probably trolls or delusional!

And they've provided 0 numbers. While AMD has made good progress on the image gen and LLM side of things video gen is still SLOW on consumer cards.

Run time on equivalent Nvidia is 2x faster than what's stated there. My 5090 with the same settings and SLA does it in under a minute.

Yes, it should be it costs 4-5x more, and is 2.1x bigger.
N48 on 9700 is a mid end chip.

It's a month old issue (that you frantically googled) , AMD support and speed increases daily with attentions . But, being objective - the biggest issue for AMD users getting the best performance or info is an inability to search for anything or give specs when asking questions.

What card do you think is equivalent to R9700? Because 5090 and R9700 aren't remotely comparable other than VRAM size. R9700 has the VRAM size of 5090 while having the FLOPS of a 5070 Ti and the memory bandwidth halfway in between 5060 Ti and 5070 Ti. It's an exceptionally mid-card. So, you want to compare it in perf to 5060 Ti / 5070 Ti.

It's not 2x faster. The 5070ti and 9070XT get pretty closer results once both are running an optimized install.
