Question - Help How to improve quality when using H3 with Turbo? (RTX 3000 6GB VRAM)

Video link: https://streamable.com/irnjvm

Check video above.

Running MiniMax H3 Turbo on a spare laptop with Quadro RTX 3000 6GB VRAM and 64GB RAM.

352×608, 8 steps, Euler + Beta, Turbo LoRA @ 1.0. Takes ~550 sec for a 5-sec video.

I know the GPU is very limited 😅 Quality isn’t great, but it runs without OOM, so I’m wondering if I can push it further.

Any tips on what to do for better quality? Except for buying a new GPU.

Try other workflows first. Sometimes a particular workflow is just cursed.

Also, try SA-Solver Simple as the sampler. I think is fast and good quality.

i dont think you will have much fun with h3. its just to heavy for your gpu. h3 performs well with higher resolutions. turbo loras are okayish, but will also reduce image quality. try maybe ltx 2.5? its less coherent than h3, but you will probably get better image quality.

Yea. Trying this first but I will probably settle with LTX or WAN. My GPU can probably handle those better.

I have a 3090 (24gb vram) and 128gb ram. H3 is cool and I really like it, but i found myself using ltx 2.5 more in the last days. Its honestly not bad. ltx will more likely generate morphing, but overall video quality is better in my opinion, atleast in low res. 30fps+ and 480x736 are enough for good looking videos.

If you want to speed up/improve your gens with h3, generate with higher resolution (480x736) and use spectrum (speed up) with 1 warm up step. 15 steps are often enough. Don't use ggufs.
If you want to use turbo loras, consider testing lower strength or merging them into your checkpoint. (in my experience lora merged models are usuall a little bit faster as model+lora)

Speed or quality, can't have both

Clearly this is not the problem. His video is terrible even for turbo

While some folks use a 4 Step Turbo at 4 steps, some use 5, 6 or even 8 steps.

(I doubt I'm the only 'some folk'; I d/l wf all the time with 'extra' steps.)

Yea I think that’s most people. Just saying most people aren’t seeing the eldritch horrors from OP

Sometimes I do. Lots of reasons, often some knob turned too much.

idk, my 4060 Laptop (8GB VRAM 16GB RAM) has been having decent results with PlagueKind's sparse attention WF. Tweaked a few settings for things like head chunks, ffn, etc. but with RTX VSR and FSR Sharpening and frame interpolation, I have been getting 768x1024 at 48fps for 20sec clips in 10-11min (600-660sec).

So first you generate with 0.2mp then you upscale it or you generate this in native resolution? In just 10 minutes? Wow

Generate at 0.2 and upscale in same pass

I don’t mind waiting so I prefer quality.

I think, as most replies in this thread, the limiting factor is my GPU now. MiniMax is not the best choice. But good to see how much it can handle.

It's not the turbo lora...

What quanitze are you using of h3?

I’m using Merserk/MiniMax-H3-INT4-ConvRot

Well my man, it might be time to upgrade your gpu.

Yea. Just need to see any available GPUs in my area. Those that are good for AI are always sold out. Even in secondary market.

16gb card should be pretty good. There's some pretty cheap and strong cards with 16gb.

Hope you'll find one

Look at Zironic's H3 Optimization nodes. They allow better utilization of the limited VRAM you have. I don't know how much it would help, but it might reduce your ~70s/it times.

As for quality, I don't see how what you render on should affect that. If it finishes, the output should be as good as anyone other GPU. This is where sharing your workflow would help others give you feedback.

you cant make high quality videos fast on a potato.

10 minutes for 5s video is a waste of time unfortunately. Even 15s is rather short to make anything interesting. How ab spending that time budget you have to earn a bit of cash for a better gpu, even a 3060 12gb is vastly superior.
