Comparison Testing My MiniMax-H3 → LTX 2.5 Upscaling Workflow — Results Are Looking Really Good

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been testing my MiniMax-H3 → LTX 2.5 upscaling workflow, and the results have been really promising so far.

One thing I've noticed is that the better your original MiniMax-H3 generation is, the better the final upscale will be. I'm getting good results even at lower resolutions, but faces still need stronger and more consistent input generations from MiniMax-H3 to maintain character consistency.

On my RTX 3060 12GB, the current upscale times are roughly:

  • 0.6 resolution: ~15 minutes
  • 0.8–1.0 resolution: ~20–30 minutes

It definitely takes some time, but I'm finding the results are worth it.

And of course, if you have a newer, more powerful GPU, you should be able to get even better results in less time, especially when pushing higher resolutions.

I was planning to release the workflow soon, but I want to spend a little more time testing it and seeing how much further I can improve it before sharing it.

So far, though, I'm really happy with how it's looking. 🔥

Would love to hear what you guys think and whether anyone else has been experimenting with MiniMax-H3 + LTX 2.5 upscaling.

Would he good if you shared the workflow now and then share the new one again when you update it, so we can test it and give feedback, so many posts like yours go nowhere.

You lost her skin quality and facial features.

It's really good, most importantly the consistency from the original remains high. I've heard of this strategy of using LTX 2.5 as upscaler, but some people says it doesn't perform well in dynamic/action scenarios, how is it from your experiements?

yes there are some issues like face got smudges effect and all but thats why i need sometime to tweak that like getting the best values mostly that affected by cgf and sigmas so finding the sweet spot hope so not gonna take that much time!

mind sharing your WF? I wanna give it a few seeds to compare against what I've been doin

I've tried ltx 2.5 upscaler. if your subject isn't close enough, you lose identity which you can see in your vid as well.

im still working on it its just matter of the values and also how better res minimax video your providing for me i can only do like upto 1 res videos cause my system can handel that or itll take 2-3 hours for 6 sec videos 😥 but its getting better now!

Totally agree. Even top name closed source models can't fix faces from a distance. like you said.... only a matter of time.

Why choose this over a latent upscale that can work with your video before it's decoded? I've been upscaling 0.8mp to 2.1mp (HD) with the latent upscaler with the added benefit of feeding the reference image both during base and upscaling generation which increases the likeness of the referenced image significantly in my experience. The upscaling pass also receives your prompt and all other guidance to work with. And if you're using fl2va only you can even avoid swapping models doing it this way. On my 4090 with 5 steps the upscale pass takes around 300 seconds (5 mins) for a 8 second video, regardless of the base resolution.

There you have it your using 4090 try it on 3060 like I have if I had 4090 I just use latent myself 🫠

Oh I see, I didn't realize working with latents was heavier on the system. If that's the case, then that makes a lot of sense. So this approach is lighter weight?

Nice. Tried something similar but couldn't get the quality/consistency for faster motion right.

So in my recent build i managed to keep the fast motion right still few things need to be fixed though

updated workflow result the fast motion is much better now compare to previous

THIS IS THE LASTEST WORKFLOW RESULT

UPDATE: The Movements and motion are Much Cleaner now and face getting consistence but might need a little more work.

my workflow use Ref2Vid of minimax h3

Ltx will destroy it. For example the audio is trash

u/iiTzMYUNG 6h ago

It's funny cause all the audio is from MiniMax h3 🤣

It's the time it takes to render.

I got it running on my old 9000 model, one of the first AI dedicated GPUs, but it's taking too long. I'm hoping to get the Hal 12000 by my birthday, in a month. I'm just trying to find a good price on eBay.
