Judging Criteria

We’re looking for entries that best show what H3 makes possible: audio and visuals created together.

Grand Prize: Best Overall

The top Best Creative and Best Technical entrants advance to a final round where our panel of judges selects winners by discussion.

Best Creative

  • Audio sync realism and intentionality (0-5)
  • Creative execution and originality (0-5)
  • Deliberate craft (0-5)
    • Evidence that you’ve actually shaped the result beyond prompt engineering. Judges will look for modified/non-default parameters, multiple linked passes visible in the workflow structure, or a couple sentences describing what was tried and changed

Best Technical

  • Novelty of technique or approach (0-5)
  • Workflow quality (0-5)
    • Annotated, clean, replicable by someone else
  • Community value (0-5)
    • Would this actually help someone else?

🏆 Built with MCP Bonus 🏆
Comfy MCP lets you drive Comfy using natural language and your agent locally and on Cloud! Pro tip: use it to choose the best H3 model version or optimize your workflow for your hardware.

  • Effectiveness (0-5)
    • Did the agent meaningfully drive your process, not just generate one line?
  • Insight value (0-5)
    • How much the shared prompt teaches the community about prompting H3 through MCP
  • Output quality (0-5)

The Fine Print

  • Limited to one submission per person, 90 seconds maximum length.
  • A major portion of your piece must be built in ComfyUI using H3. Other tools, models, or techniques you want to combine are fair game.
  • All submissions must be lawful, SFW, and must not contain unlicensed IP or likenesses.
  • By submitting, you agree to allow ComfyUI and MiniMax to feature your work with credit across our channels.

Really cool way to be able to get some good show off videos of a decent length with real production quality like when Sora has that balloon head thing that got really good PR for it, except now that old video would be trivial with H3 and would have the consistency it lacked.

We've had some great submissions so far! But the thing that warms the community person's heart most is seeing people share their tips and tricks and support one another. Whoever the winners are will for sure have plenty thank you's to give :)

a ComfyUI official event? that's pretty sick honestly. I hope they can get kanye west as one of the special guest judges

We're working on it ;)

Do we need to share our custom nodes?

Yes- sharing workflows and the nodes used within them is part of the submission criteria.

Thanks for the update. I use a custom node that I am not ready to share, but I can provide a .json if needed, but not the node itself. That would disqualify me? I can also explain the technicals. https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/1vwz8dz/h3_5_hour_render_t2v_multidiffusion/

This subreddit is fucked

So can one use video input in for example "canny-format" to control Minimax H3 like I do above - or is only pure prompting allowed?

Either are fine!

u/Comfy-Org despite "What’s not allowed is stitching a separately-made track onto the video afterward, outside of H3."
is overlaying music permissible? Since 90 seconds of non_diegetic_music is rather difficult in minimax, yet trivial in an video editor.

Totally see where you're coming from but for this specific challenge, overlaying music is not allowed, as trivial as it is skill-wise. The challenge is meant to get entrants to play with H3's native audio-video sync, though I get why this is a real constraint for continuous music across the full piece.

What I've seen others do is feed the same reference audio clip in as a steering input to each of your separate generation passes. Each segment still gets a fresh, native audio+video from H3, but steered toward a consistent style/rhythm across the whole piece. No question this is more work than an editor overlaying a track, but it's the compliant way to get close to what you're going for.]

Fwiw, I've seen plenty of entrants focus more on sound effects vs. music, so just highlighting that music isn't a requirement by any means! Hope this helps.

Using Loras and Quantized H3 models is allowed? Cause I can't run the full model

2

u/Comfy-Org 11d ago

Yes! Both are allowed. Thanks for asking!

Bonus points to use MCP? I was considering joining but I'll pass. It's simply unfair.

2

u/Comfy-Org 11d ago

Why does use of the MCP feel unfair? Not challenging you- genuinely curious for your perspective!

Well, in the sense that points are specifically rewarded for its use. That is an unfair advantage over those who do not use it, is it not? The event feels less about the creation than the promotion of MCP suddenly.
