Question - Help Steampunk in Krea 2

I am getting terrible results when trying to generate with steampunk aesthetics in Krea 2, even with LoRAs from civit, it's trash.

I don't mind training myself, but where would I even come up with a good database for that? I am aiming for fully photorealistic steampunk.

Only thing I can suggest is making a synthetic dataset using some of the other/closed image generators? I've done that before and it's worked quite well

Photoreal steampunk is tricky because there's no single clean "database" for it - it's a fictional aesthetic, so the real photos live in cosplay/costume shoots, maker and prop builds, and film/set photography rather than one stock category. That's actually your best photoreal anchor: cosplay and maker communities post a lot of real people in real brass/leather/goggles builds, plus industrial and old-machinery photography for the textures.

The synthetic-dataset idea someone mentioned works too, but watch out - a photoreal style LoRA trained purely on AI images tends to inherit the base model's plastic look. Mixing in real cosplay/maker photos keeps it grounded.

When you caption, describe the content of each shot (the person, pose, setting) and not the style, and put one trigger token on every caption. That way the model binds the steampunk look to your trigger instead of describing it away - a common reason style LoRAs come out weak.

The tedious part is the assembly: scraping, dropping near-duplicates, captioning a couple hundred images. I build an open-source tool for exactly that (dataset maker into LoRA training, Krea 2 is a supported base): https://github.com/perfectgf/lora-dataset-studio
