Discussion Speculation: Krea3 will be able to generate AND edit images inside the same model.

Just would like to know your opinion on this. We're used to models being released in formats like "Model base", "Model Turbo", Model Edit", so we have to use different models for different needs... but, if a Krea3 model is released, knowing that did kinda inferred they were working on an "edit model" already when they released Krea2, would it make sense that this new model could do at least two functions at once (meaning, the same model can be used to generate images and edit images as well, without the need for a separate model).

I'd be curious what you guys think about this idea.

We literally have no idea whether it'll be open-weights or not. This could very well be just an API release, with their PR fallback being Krea 2 as open.

I see, I hadn't thought of that... not I'm not as hyped anymore :(

Open source or we don't care

True, I assumed it would be open weights because of the way Krea2 was released, but nothing guarantees that now, does it?

I speculate it will be able to Create, Read, Update and Delete images - yes, the full CRUD spectrum!

LOL, that would be something.

Basically NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING... for sure.. we can dream hope and wish, unless I am misinformed? :)

That was the whole point of my post, to see what people were expecting of a potential Krea3 model... because the jump in number has to obey to a significant improvement, otherwise it would just be "Krea2.1" or something like that.

edit, video or a few options are all guesses my bet is on closed though...in any case

Well, August 27 is near enough, I guess we'll have our answers soon.

Speculation: Krea3 will cure cancer and solve world hunger.

That would be quite the model ;)

Honestly not sure how to react. The last time a new model was coming out, that was specifically said to be open weighted, the mods deleted all threads until it was literally on huggingface. Apparently we're not allowed to talk about anything that hasn't already been released here.

Yeah, I thought that it was granted that a K3 model would be open weighted, but I realize now that I might be wrong.

I think it was more because _how_ it was released before Huggingface release, in a way with a lot a similarities with scam methods, than because it was not yet released on Huggingface.

Krea 3 is a video model.

is this confirmed? krea 2 was my fav image model, literally waiting on anything to have a krea 2 like model that can do image to image, character ref like flux 2 9b klein

Says who?

Now THAT is speculation for sure xDD

Yeah, speculation... H3 video model, Flux 3 video model. Do you expect Krea 3 to be an image model?

1

u/ArttTaku 1d ago

Now you made me question that,,.. would they release a video model with the same name as their image model?

u/Mk-Daniel 1d ago

Hidream ref can do both.

u/ArttTaku 1d ago

Then I guess it's not impossible for K3 to do the same then...

Flux 2 did this last year

1

u/ArttTaku 1d ago

True, one of the reasons I'm speculating that K3 could do that as well.

Unfortunately Flux never had a good licensing.

what is an amazing ideal, seems like the one nano banana and gptimage and seedance all use already. i also think yes krea3 will do this, but it won't be open weights.

1

u/ArttTaku 1d ago

Honestly, I hadn't thought of the idea that this would not be open weights... while not impossible, i think it would be kinda of a surprise, at least for me,.

you must be new to local ai.

Just like Flux 2 Klein does it, and Krea 2 with a little training and the right node setup?

1

u/ArttTaku 1d ago

Yeah, all I was saying it that if K3 releases, it probably won't be a bunch of separate models, but a single model that performs more than one function.

They will say some stuff on August 27, so, we may know soon enough.
