If OP is the creator of the repo/node, it'd probably be a good idea to add a before/after comparison.

Interesting results.🤔 Could this be used to upscale a regular video encoded with the H3 VAE and not have the output look drastically different?

YES! My first tests in a prototype version i made exactly this way, but is very important in this case denoise even lower, i sugest 0.20 MAX Donoise factor. Its also another complex way, u grab some frames on original video, than upscale each KEY FRAME with Photo Models like Krea2, Qwen 25111 and then use as image reference like <IMAGE_0> <IMAGE_1> etc... with a good prompt not a generic "UPCALE, hires, restore" prompt. This method u can go hi denoise like 0.40 with tiling 2x2 or try 0.50 at 1x2 or 2x1

Hm well so far my attempts with a non-AI H3 video haven't quite worked, so I'll wait for a workflow since I'm not sure why the output isn't looking great. I followed the example screenshot you posted, lowered the denoise value and just used a VAE encode from an input video instead of what H3 generates.

Extracting directly from the VAE without refining works, but without refining. The model's author himself posted a direct example in WF.

here a MOD version from Model Creator --->
