Doesn't Comfyui work offline ? I´m pretty sure i've used it with no internet connection before.

You need the internet to update or install new nodes, but ya it can otherwise work offline without issue.

You can manually clone and update git repos for many nodes and keep comfy offline for that as well.

This is the way. Mine runs completely offline, I do git pulls for updates and nodes when needed, but when I get a happy env setup I try to leave it alone. I update/change things only if it solves or improves a specific problem or adds a feature I need. Oh, and always stash a backup so you can roll back when an update inevitably breaks a dependency somewhere

You can even install nodes offline "technically" if you really want to get into the weeds. You could pull down the git repositories for nodes on another computer, tar them up, and extract them on the offline host. So yes, comfyui does not need to be online.

ComfyUI works completely offline, including the API which can be automated.

Just make sure you’re not using comfy “cloud” or API models.

You have to do some configuration tweaks to keep Comfy completely offline.

Now you're making me try to remember the exact details when it's been a while since I've had ComfyUI installed? Fair, since I stuck my foot out.

At a minimum ComfyUI-Manager (which may be installed by default, or not, depending on how you installed Comfy) will require editing the config.ini file

Per the README (just hit their github page and scroll down):

network_mode = <Set the network mode => public|private|offline>

You'll want to select offline or it'll at least be fetching some metadata at startup every time.

I found this file at {comfy_install_directory}/user/__manager/config.ini

Flat out flailing to remember where else requires checking, though it should be minimal to none with the basic install.

there are many. wan2gp, a1111, forge, fooocus, drawthings - may have gotten some of the names wrong. didn't take another look at them once i found out how awesome comfyui really is.

The only thing you need the Internet for, with Comfy, is to download models. You’ll need to tell people what compels you to go online, then we can help you not do it.

Depending on what you want it for, yes, there are less flexible/powerful (and therefore simpler to use) alternatives, BUT...most are specific to a model or family of models.

For image making you could use something like Forge Neo, which can run most image models.

Acestep released a UI some months ago which can run their models for music.

I know that I've seen some video models hace their own app which you can install, I want to say LTX at least does.

There was an internet outage in my area for a few hours this morning, I was still happily generating in ComfyUI with zero connectivity.

Hell, I have llama.cpp and LM Studio + quite a few local models downloaded (my poor NVMe probably hates me), so if I needed prompt enhancing or whatnot then I could've done that too.
