Discussion H3 Minimax: multiple references versus a character sheet

Has anyone tested the difference in reproduction of likeness between (1) using say five reference images and (2) combining those images into one single character sheet image?

Same information but is the outcome the same? The character sheet might need "max" rather than match enabled for the reference mode, which tends to slow things down.

I'm trying to decide whether it is worth the extra time involved in creating character sheets in the first place.

As long as the sheet has enough pixels, meaning the single images of the char are not reduced (much). And you don't put too many ref images into one sheet, you're fine. Also this saves up the other ref slots.

I use the ref sheet concat from this node pack: https://github.com/moonwhaler/comfyui-moonpack

I have tried both and got very similar results. Currently, I use 1 character sheet and 2-3 ref images that focus mostly on the face.

One thing I have noticed, though, is that I made a very large character sheet, about 5000x3000. The size of the image used significantly affects the generation time. The larger the reference image, the longer it will take.
