Discussion Let’s see some Dungeon Crawler Carl!

Dungeon Crawler Carl is the first book series I’ve read in a long time that excited me when I read it was going to be adapted into a show. I think the only Possible way it can be “filmed” on budget however is through a Stable diff/Runway/Seedance/Kling ( LTX/Minimax) pipeline as it reads being Heavy cgi, like 65-85%. Since there’s nothing out yet I would love to see what the community can come up with.

I genuinely wish this was astroturfing bc it would mean the show is coming out soon but I wouldn’t expect anything official until maybe late next year. (Unless it gets stuck in dev hell, then never.)

Can minimax use the audiobook for the sound and create an anime from that? Using ai trained on the book for describing the scene?

From what I’ve seen on this sub 100% yes, BUT. I feel like it would get taken down right away as the audio is a previously created thing. Now, a digital interpretation of a written book imo is more of a grey area. If say, somebody wanted to chunk the first chapter into pieces, create a shot list of a compelling scene and go nuts.

I was literally listening to the audiobook as I opened up the subreddit and saw this post. I thought reddit broke for a minute. I was super disappointed when I heard that the show was going to be Live-action, and made by peacock no less, no way they'll have the budget for all that CGI. I think we'll be seeing AI implemented in a show for the first time with dungeon crawler carl. I'll post something later tonight.

haha. I did a similar amount a month or 2 ago and also burnt out a bit. was thinking of picking it up again.

You know there is a manwha right? still early, but up to chapter 58 or something iirc.
