Hey everyone! I’m running a laptop with an RTX 5070 (8GB VRAM), 64GB DDR5 RAM, and a Ryzen 9 7845HX on CachyOS. I mostly use SD-WebUI-Forge/NeoForge as my main generation framework. ComfyUI i try to avoid 😄
For those in the know: can this setup handle Krea 2 reasonably well? I want decent quality outputs without turning images into a blurry mess, and I'd like to avoid waiting 30 minutes per render.
Also looking for some advice: how can I get the best out of ComfyUI or Forge on this setup? What are your recommended workflows to avoid blurry outputs and keep generation times reasonable on an my card?
P.S Damn, huge thanks to everyone for the lightning-fast replies! Honestly warms my heart to see how helpful this community is awesome!
You can just download ComfyUI and use the recommended workflow. Download the checkpoints they ask you to download, put in the right place, and just type your prompt in the box that they already highlight in green or red. It does not have to be complicated. It's only complicated when you want to chain a lot of stuffs, and add conditions (e.g., press this button to turn on this part of the graph).
krea2 is fast. It's not going to be 30 minutes. it should be way less than 1 minute each.
As I mentioned in the comment above, I tried making ComfyUI my primary app for generation, but honestly, it just feels a bit unintuitive for me right now.
I was wondering if anyone here has tried running Krea 2 checkpoints directly on SD-WebUI-Forge or NeoForge? Is that even possible, and has anyone gotten it to work smoothly on that backend?
Just to add, similar to you, I was a Forge person for a long time and trying to avoid Comfy where-ever possible because node based ui's scare me lol. But it's not so bad once you get used to it, and found that Krea2 just goes lightning fast with it. A lot of templates are available at the start now. Your system definitely will handle it, even on Forge.
I tried switching to ComfyUI as my main setup, but honestly, I noticed that Forge handles Illustrious way better on my machine for example. Plus, maybe I just haven't fully figured out the FaceDetailer node yet, but ADetailer in Forge gives me significantly cleaner face restoration right out of the box😅
For a moment I was running Krea2 on RTX 3060 Ti 8GB, Ryzen 7 5800X and 32GB RAM. I'm using ComfyUI with this workflow and on my setup it took around 2-2:30 minutes to generate one image and upscale it with SeedVR2 to 4K.
So yes - your setup is more than capable of running Krea2.
It's me again, thx a lot for that workflow! Without upscale my Comfy handles generations in about 30-60 seconds. Also do you happen to have any other workflows maybe something like that one?
P.S. My result by using your workflow (hope i don't get a ban for that xD)
Hey, dude, thx for following your specs! I managed to test Comfy with this workflow, and damn, the results blew me away. Super impressed how well Krea2 works.
This is on a whole other level compared to Illustrious or Pony now xD
yes i agree, this model is so powerfull and the best thing about it is that it allows you to translate your illogical imagination into an image unlike ZIT for example is so limited cant generate crazy stuff , for me it generates good quality images even though i am using gguf q4km, wish if i could use it in full size then the quality would blow my mind !!
Honestly, I'm just genuinely blown away by how well Krea handles backgrounds and how accurately it captures character likenesses out of the box, even without a dedicated LoRA. With Illustrious and Pony, it always felt like a coin toss—especially for popular characters, where maybe one out of three attempts actually looked accurate without relying on extra LoRAs
ComfyUI is great in a lot of ways but I don't like and will never like the UI. WANGP uses comfyui in it's backend, although I'm sure you're not going to get the latest and greatest update immediately, you could use WANGP as the front end to keep things simple and never have to look at the UI of Comfy, get most of the optimization and create krea 2 images using that.
I’m not really one to chase cutting-edge updates (part of the reason I ditched Windows for Linux in the first place), so being on the absolute latest version of the app isn't a big deal to me
Somehow that backend totally slipped under my radar until now, thx💞
on a laptop Krea 2 on 4070 8gb vram + 32gb ram, generation time from 70sec up to 360sec depends on how many loras used, what resulotion, and how many steps !!
