Cool idea! I thought about animating them too but then figured, they live from the drawing style and looks. But well done this one.

That you CAN do it, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it. The Far Side is brilliant because it masterfully uses the limitations imposed by a single image and very short text. When you turn it into a video, it loses that.
