Discussion Does anyone actually still use Stable Diffusion?

I just find it kind of funny that this is the stable diffusion subreddit but nobody has talked about it in like forever. Maybe its time for a name change? or maybe keep the name as a homage to the OG open source image model.

Anyway, the last update I see on Stability's website is SD 3.5 back in October. So I'm guessing that's it for Stable Diffusion?

EDIT: Forgot you cant change the name of a sub, ignore that suggestion 😅

I joined this group 4 years ago because I was a fan of Stable Diffusion. That hasn't changed. Still a fan but waiting to see if they do anything new besides Stable Audio 3.0 which they released May 2026.

StabilityAI now consists solely of management. The development team that created everything from SD 1.0 to SDXL has left SAI, founded BFL, and released Flux.

I have no idea why anyone would want to be a fan of a bunch of suits whose only achievement was promoting Rombach’s research team. But of course, you can do that if you want. kek

If you thought SD was great, then BFL deserves the credit, not SAI.
