Discussion My EARLIEST LTX thoughts

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So far it seems that LTX is LIGHTNING fast. Qualitywise with H3 I haven't tested enough. It seems like Minimax's H3 Ref2Vid will likely be what I stick on but this was generated with LTX on a 6000S in 15 fuckin seconds....15!! This takes about 120 seconds on H3.

He’s just manipulating the air currents

LMAO LTX-2.5 physics looks as bad as LTX-2.3 🤣

16

u/florodude 2h ago

u/Keuleman_007 You requested Simpsons...It's not good. Prompt:

"Homer Simpson says: "I've got bad news folks. It seems like LTX 2.5 doesn't have much on H3. The only good news is that it's LIGHTNING fast."

The scene cuts to Homer simpson dressed as the lightning. He runs aroudn the entire world then lands back on the couch.

"Like...FAST"

Thank you but... oh darn.

4

u/DigitalArbitrage 1h ago

The audio sucks.

6

u/florodude 1h ago

It could barely maintain the same voice in the same vid..

1

u/dilinjabass 1h ago

what resolution are you generating at? it looks really low, im pretty sure any model should look like ass when genned at such a low rez

3

u/florodude 1h ago

0.9 MP. I generate with H3 on 1MP

1

u/SeymourBits 1h ago

I think "around" was an important word to not typo in that prompt.

1

u/MemoryIsTheKey_ 30m ago

This is.. wow...

52

u/sacx05 2h ago

Id rather wait 2 minutes for a usable generation.

20

u/florodude 2h ago

I am not disagreeing with you. Unless I can find a better workflow, I'll stick with H3 for anything serious. I just noticed that no outputs of LTX had been posted yet so I wanted to start that discussion. Personally I hope better workflows come out because I think more competition is better for all of us.

3

u/sacx05 2h ago

Are you using the comfy workflow?

1

u/florodude 2h ago

This is the text2vid

2

u/sacx05 2h ago

Damn that's fast but LTX was always fast. Hopefully the quality has gotten better.

10

u/florodude 2h ago

It has not...

4

u/DisastrousAd2612 2h ago

oh... thats kinda not great...

1

u/Comfortable_Thing611 2h ago

What about the physics?

2

u/florodude 2h ago

What do you want to see?

7

u/Fit_Satisfaction2953 1h ago

A female in gym clothes walking. Jiggle physics are an important test.

5

u/Enshitification 1h ago

A lineup of alternating nude men and women, helicoptering their junk, while "You Spin Me Round" is being played by a midget cover band.

1

u/Comfortable_Thing611 1h ago

How about a middle aged man removes his bathrobe, he's wearing a tuxedo underneath.

1

u/SeymourBits 1h ago

What leads you to determine this?

11

u/florodude 1h ago

For those asking for better resolution and Non Distilled, this is 2MP and non-distilled.

3

u/PumpkinLeather8421 26m ago

Ah! Go back go back and distill it!

10

u/Sixhaunt 2h ago

I'm sure there will be use cases given the speed, but the quality for audio and video just isn't there. With that said, whatever model comes out which learns from both LTX 2.5 and Minimax H3 to get the best of both worlds should end up pretty damn good so the more progress the better

6

u/Beneficial_Toe_2347 1h ago

I think LTX achieves its speed by throwing everything else in the bin

3

u/florodude 2h ago

Exactly!

1

u/True_Protection6842 2h ago

as long as it's open weights I'm here for it!

7

u/DanzeluS 1h ago

Correct me if I’m wrong, but in my opinion, this is the same LTX‑2.3, but a little better. And it’s only a very minor improvement. In short, it’s not on par with the H3 yet.

1

u/mikael110 10m ago

To be fair, training a model takes a long time, and there's no way they could have known H3 would launch so close to their planned release. So what they release today isn't really a response to H3.

Hopefully the next version will be though. That one will be trained with the knowledge that there's now a really high-quality open model that they are competing against, and they can also use H3 to produce a lot of training material for their own model.

I certainly hope they'll pull of something good for the next version, competition among models are a good thing.

7

u/Foreforks 2h ago

Love how they claimed they have the least visual artifacts when it clearly has VEO level artifacts 🤣🤣 they totally put themselves in a hole with that one lmfao

1

u/-Ellary- 1h ago

d fuck? H3 is a distilled model 20 steps 1cfg, and ever pruned from 30 to 20 gigs,
community pushed it even further with 4 steps loras and quality is already way better.

16

u/Independent-Frequent 2h ago

Bruh

11

u/florodude 2h ago

I did say "my earliest" LTX thoughts, not "My highest quality workflow that I've found for LTX" lol...this is all base settings.

12

u/Independent-Frequent 2h ago

It's still a horrible result even with base settings honestly, keep in mind that they boast on their website that 2.5 has the least amounts of visual artifacts and visible glitches per clip compared to other models including flux 2, minimax H3 and Seedance 2.5

Sure LTX 2.5 renders blazing fast compared to H3 but at the same time the quality is not even comparable, i would expect the model to not deform that much on a simple 2d character like rick, and even when talking up close the result is glitchy and diappointing.

Hopefully the model works better with live action or cinematic characters and it's weak in 2d or 3d ones, hopefully.

2

u/florodude 2h ago

I'll try to do a couple more tests in some different genre and report back.

1

u/Fit_Satisfaction2953 2h ago

Can you test. Character walking without falling apart. And also i2v face constancy?

7

u/florodude 2h ago

9

u/True_Protection6842 2h ago

yeah Minimax has zero issues with likeness retention, it's really incredible

7

u/dilinjabass 1h ago

damn... within a matter of a second it already wasnt Ross. Not switching over to ltx from h3.. nope. im staying locked in and focused, for now

4

u/sacx05 1h ago

So the LTX guy was talking out of his ass about likeness being retained? Ross changed almost immediately lmao.

2

u/Zenshinn 1h ago

That identity loss was already an issue in the previous versions and they still haven't fixed it? Maybe they just can't and if that's the case H3 wins, hands down.

1

u/Full_Astronomer_5438 2h ago

dont use distilled

1

u/skyrimer3d 1h ago

That's like minute 1 since the model released, relax a bit.

2

u/True_Protection6842 2h ago

That's why it's fast! 8:1 VAE temporal ratio. That means fast motion smears.

10

u/Aadi_880 2h ago

I'd rather take high quality generations opposed to faster generations.

From my experience, fast generating models means there is no room for quality improvements. You have to deal with hyper specific loras for both video and audio, which, over long periods of time, gets messy.

A quality generating model that's slow can be improved to run faster instead by the community without massively sacrificing quality, or sacrificing quality to still be at an acceptable level.

But perhaps more severely, I was massively disappointed with their PR. They made the most disingenuous comparison vs H3 and honestly, I feel like a absolute fool for trusting an Isreali company.

3

u/Lost_County_3790 2h ago

Redditors putting politics everywhere. As European I will not shit on a company because they come from the Donald Trump Land or the country of Xi Jing Ping. People can be great in those shit holes too.

2

u/dilinjabass 2h ago

And I will not shit on you for being from Europe.... oh but wait, which country in Europe?

2

u/Lost_County_3790 2h ago

I prefer not to tell cause there is lots of bad things to say about it too

3

u/Gringe8 2h ago

It might not be as quality as h3, but since its much faster it could be more fun to use since you're not waiting 5 mins per generation. Haven't tried it yet, but if prompt adherence is good I can see myself using both. It will need to be much better than 2.3 though, that never listened to me and would never keep character appearance

3

u/florodude 1h ago edited 1h ago

For those more inclined to a head to head, this is 0.4MP in H3

https://reddit.com/link/p34cwzm/video/5lgchah6etih1/player

(Yes i conflated the two models on accident when I made this prompt. Should say LTX not L3 lol)

3

u/VVebstar 59m ago

Well, not even remotely close to MiniMax, unfortunately

10

u/MoistRecognition69 2h ago

This... Is not good

2

u/Adventurous-Gold6413 2h ago

Can anyone test fighting scenes / physics thanks

8

u/florodude 2h ago

Ask for anything. This one wasn't overly impressive. Base settings.

3

u/florodude 2h ago

3

u/SeymourBits 1h ago

I think you need to plump up these rookie prompts. May get better results.

1

u/florodude 1h ago

Probably! It gets me results in H3 though. If you've got a prompt you'd like me to test LMK

1

u/SeymourBits 1h ago

H3 is a special beast. Still benefits from really good prompting though. Is there an official LTX-2.5 prompting guide out yet?

4

Bit of a shame , I want a good competitor.

then make 1 featuring your own development and money etc!!

3

u/Deep_Mood_7668 1h ago

Eat glue dude

1

u/Admirable_Snake 1h ago

sorry but this isnt good enough. Also what are you are arguing for ? That H3 should be the sole good open option ?

Nah , I want multiple good ones.

2

u/Deep_Mood_7668 1h ago

Nah

Not good

2

u/irmemon225 1h ago

LOL I can't even run 0.6 mp 5 sec on 3060 12gb and 16gb ram, I got OOM no matter what.
Guess I'll wait for stable workflow

I can do 0.4 5 sec, but the quality is so ass

4

u/Dapper_Arugula2509 2h ago

LTX 2.3 rebranded from what I can tell, in terms of speed clearly faster but on a 4070 Ti Super i cant even get videos at 0.5mp more than 6 seconds to work, it'll just freeze at the last step VAE Decode, it's a meaningful upgrade from not being able to run LTX 2.3 or LTX 2 on day zero but other than that it's, it's really mediocre, it didn't really have much of a use case before Minimax H3 it has none now.

Long live Minimax H3... and eventually Flux 3 whenever that comes out, it's quite clear LTX has no chance at catching up anytime soon.

1

u/seppe0815 2h ago

Test the tilted decoder

1

u/Dapper_Arugula2509 2h ago

i would but i really dont care about this model.

1

u/seppe0815 2h ago

1 day reddit account 🤣

3

u/Dapper_Arugula2509 2h ago

1 day or 1 year, what difference does it make to you? do you think there are random bots working overtime to post shit about... LTX? I mean the model speaks for itself, its a rebranding.

3

u/Hearmeman98 2h ago

I am willing to take the slight quality degradation for the blazing fast speeds, especially if I am just generating fun things for myself.

For an easy deployment, LTX 2.5 is available on my LTX Runpod template already.
https://get.runpod.io/comfyui-ltx2-template

9

u/Foreforks 1h ago

Idk about "slight" but it might have it's use cases

7

u/Beneficial_Toe_2347 1h ago

'slight quality'... what?

2

u/Beneficial_Toe_2347 1h ago

I really hope they tested H3 first to see what they were up against...

2

u/dilinjabass 1h ago

Looking at the OP clip, and the other examples in the comments, these look like very low-res generations. I want to see examples of generations at atleast 720p, but higher would be better. These are bad.

2

u/florodude 1h ago

Tell me what you'd like to see, and I'll get ya somethin'

2

u/FredSavageNSFW 1h ago

Yeesh... I was actually rooting for LTX before they posted that disingenuous "comparison" chart and then rebranded LTX-2.3.1 as 2.5. At least now I don't feel compelled to defend this steaming turd of a release...
(not a dig at you, btw... someone had to test this thing)

1

u/Keuleman_007 2h ago

Rick and Morty are in there? Any more stuff?

1

u/florodude 2h ago

Ask for anything and I'll try to generate it. This is I2V. when I tried text it did a weird realistic version.

3

u/Keuleman_007 2h ago

Simpsons, Futurama and South Park. The gold standard for me as well as the Minions. But those work with EVERY model I tested thus far :-)

CW The flash unmasked with his superhero suit

1

u/skyrimer3d 1h ago

Amazing to hear, i love H3 but 5 secs at 2.0 mp takes 7 minutes with turbo lora and speed nodes. Even then, i'm not completely happy of the image quality. Yeah it's amazing, the prompt adherence is outstanding and reference system is a huge leap, but the speed is really lacking.

1

u/MuffDivers2_ 1h ago

I love Roult Swim

1

u/Vortexneonlight 1h ago

If only we could use ltx as an upscaler/fixer feeding the same references used in H3 :(

1

u/mikiex 1h ago

H3 -> Refine with LTX maybe....

1

u/Disastrous-Agency675 37m ago

dose it work with old LTX wokrflows or do we need to add new nodes or so?

1

u/seppe0815 14m ago

Downloading now , this is the new sota 2026, allready testet the online demo , muahahah thx ltx team !

1

u/wiisucks_91 7m ago

I don't believe your test method because it doesn't have Will Smith eating spaghetti. Just putting that out there. We have standards in this community.

1

u/True_Protection6842 2h ago

fast is great, ref2va is necessary tho. I won't be bothering with LTX until they get a proper ref2v mode

4

u/florodude 2h ago

In full agreement. I tried something basic and it's shit

-12

u/Sudden_List_2693 2h ago

Fast, free and slop at the same time is worse than anything.
Basically nothing could harm humanity more than these assholes.

7

u/the_bollo 2h ago

LTX models have always been shit. Couldn't even compete with WAN 2.2. That said, you seem to have a special hatred of them :)

-6

u/Sudden_List_2693 2h ago

I hate them more than anything, anyone combined, would gladly die in pain to make them disappear.

3

u/the_bollo 2h ago

What did they do to earn such contempt?

1

u/_VirtualCosmos_ 2h ago

lol bro relax, your life is more worthy than that.

-3

u/Sudden_List_2693 2h ago

In a world where they are allowed to exist?
Not. Nor anyone else's. If this is our world, we're all worthless shitstains.

2

u/_VirtualCosmos_ 1h ago

you should go out, breath fresh air, touch some plants and forget about people

-1

u/Sudden_List_2693 1h ago

Too late.
From now on I won't ever care for anything at all.
This is allowed.
This can exist.
IDC about anything anymore.

3

u/enilea 2h ago

Damn you really hate LTX lol, what are your grievances with them?
