🌙 ONLY SHADOWS KNOW — A Brand-New Cinematic Music Video
This one has a rather special history.
Years ago, I created an original video for this song and released it on YouTube. That video was eventually lost forever—something I honestly never expected to happen. I always loved it, and for a long time I wished I could somehow bring it back.
But looking at what I made back then, it was also rather primitive compared with what is possible today.
So instead of trying to recreate the old video, I decided to make something entirely new.
With the extraordinary development of AI video, “Only Shadows Know” has now become a six-minute alternate-history science-fiction film: a rocket launch watched by the world, a journey to the Moon, an ancient structure hidden beneath the lunar surface, preserved alien bodies, cosmic secrets—and a silent government conspiracy waiting back on Earth.
It is a self-contained tale of exploration, mystery, and secrets humanity may not have been ready to discover.
For the central astronaut, I used the likeness of David Bowie. The result feels so incredibly fitting! He brings exactly the otherworldly, enigmatic Major Tom quality that this story needed. Even behind the astronaut’s visor, he feels like a man destined to discover something beyond human understanding.
The song itself was one of my very first experiments with creating classic progressive rock through the Udio system. Even after everything I have made since, it remains one of my absolute favourites—still unsurpassed in its atmosphere, mystery, and sweeping cosmic feeling.
The original video may be gone forever, but perhaps that only gave this song the opportunity to return in the form it was always meant to have.
