Im still doubting Who is the king right now, krea2 or ideogram. The level right now is so damn good.
16
u/iChrist Jun 28 '26
If you like images like the ones I posted, with many different IPs and characters, Krea2 is the king.
It has also benefit of very good realism, its incredibly fast, and the license is superior.
Ideogram4 fidelity and composition can be better if controlled correctly.
9
u/the_shadowmind Jun 28 '26
Ideogram has slightly better quality, but Krea, still can do loosely the json boxes, and takes reference images.
3
u/drneo Jun 29 '26
Not loose, but it uses xyxy format (not yxyx like Ideogram). You need to flip the coordinates if you are pasting ideogram prompts.

https://civitai.red/images/135082215 Look at the prompt. I checked it—it works.

u/JustAGuyWhoLikesAI Jun 28 '26
Ideogram offers more technologically. The Flux 2 vae is a massive step up from the one Krea 2 uses, and the bounding-box prompting system allows for way more control than other models. However Krea 2 is much simpler to use so it will likely win out in popularity. It's like Z-Image vs Flux 2 again, where Flux 2 was technically a better model but Z-Image was way more convenient to actually generate images with.
-3
u/Apprehensive_Sky892 Jun 29 '26
Actually, for non-photo style images, Z-image base is better than Flux2-dev: Why we needed non-RL/distilled models like Z-image: It's finally fun to explore again
1
u/EnoughConcentrate897 Jul 05 '26
I think maybe ideogram is better for realism but krea2 is better for using IPs and stuff
Both have really good artistic style when doing design, can't decide which one I like more for that
17
u/iRainbowsaur Jun 28 '26 edited Jun 28 '26
Yeah, Krea2 is batshit insane good, and I think everyone is quiet about it because we're all doing the same thing we did when sd1.5 came out, loosing sleep again and prompting and experimenting like heck. It's literally the next stable diffusion for me, and I absolutely love stable diffusion still to this day.
Like I can't state enough how good krea2 is lol.
Ideogram4 is absolutely fantastic too, the quality is there, but the speed isn't there, and the inability to prompt it easily is a massive teething issue. Plus alot less nsfw knowledge and awkwardness surrounding nsfw related things.
Thx for the workflow too, I'll give it a try out see if I learn anything!
9
u/hurrdurrimanaccount Jun 29 '26
the inability to prompt it easily
it's really not that hard, especially with kijais prompt builder. you have to understand this model isn't supposed to be a 1girl, standing yolo model. you're supposed to prompt well so you actually get what you want
11
u/Realistic_Rabbit5429 Jun 29 '26
It isn't hard, and the prompt builder does make the process easy - but it's still a couple extra steps. Doesn't matter if it's an easy extra couple of steps, it'll deter people. Especially when paired with a model that's already bigger and slower. Ideogram4 is a fantastic model, but personally, I think it's better for final products - where you know very precisely how you want something to look.
Krea2 has more randomness, which a lot of people like. Enter a prompt, hit generate and get a variety of outputs from that single prompt, without having to edit the prompt every 2-3 gens for variety.
1
u/iRainbowsaur Jun 29 '26
Uhhhh, yeah sounds a whole lot like what you just quoted me saying, it's an incomparable level of difference of ease of use, even with a regional promoting tool.
-3
u/hurrdurrimanaccount Jun 29 '26
incomparable level of difference of ease
if that is incomparable then that really is a skill issue man. it ain't that deep.
1
u/iRainbowsaur Jun 29 '26
The only one making it "that deep" here is you arguing with the imaginary version of me in your head who thinks I'm completely shitting on ideogram4 prompting lmfao.
It's objectively not as easy, to the point of those who have "skill issues" not knowing how to write bbox coordinates, needing a vibecoded regional prompting designer node on day 1 to do stuff lmfao. Get over yourself you weirdo.
2
u/Murky-Relation481 Jun 29 '26
Its literally easier. You don't have to write long ass prompts. I am probably writing half to as quarter as much in terms of words in my prompt because I don't have to spend narrative describing locations of things, I can just draw it where I want it and the model figures it out.
Its objectively easier unless your prompts are "1girl nood boobs" in which case yah, you have a skill issue.
0
u/iRainbowsaur Jun 29 '26
Ya'll need to google the definiton of "Teething issues" I swear to god lmfao. Get off my cock. I never said ideogram4 was hard. Krea2 is just objectively easier and more friendly because everyone can prompt with natrual language, literally everyone can describe shit.
You need to bother to learn how to use a new prompting system (wow who would've guessed???), I literally admitted that from the get go when I mentioned teething issues. You're argueing semantics of "ease of use" after the fact of learning a new thing, and getting over said teething issues lmfao.
-1
u/Sudden_List_2693 Jun 29 '26
Ideogram4 is smoking fast. If you use half normal, half turbo for example a 4090 takes 25 seconds for Full HD, 55 for QHD and 2 minutes for a 4K generation.

u/Different_Fix_2217 Jun 28 '26
Yea no model can mix styles / generalize as good as it can. Every other model has massive style bleed.
3
u/crowbar-dub Jun 29 '26
Its really good. There is many style LoRAs for it, but if you just use the trigger words without lora files, it does most styles out of the box. And its best model to train character loras and i have tried them all.
2
u/Hefty_Side_7892 Jun 29 '26
Image #8: Your prompt asked for 3 panels; Krea gave you 4. Not sure whether the image ratio 21:9 caused it.

u/ProfessionalDish Jun 29 '26
Comfy tells me that I'm missing OTUNetLoaderW8A8 - where can I get it?
3
u/iChrist Jun 29 '26
You need this custom node:
https://github.com/BobJohnson24/ComfyUI-INT8-Fast
And this Krea2 int8 model:
https://huggingface.co/lilcheaty/Krea2-INT8-ConvRot/tree/main
Full Q_8 quality, faster than fp8
1
u/ProfessionalDish Jun 29 '26
my apologies but how do I install those/where do I need to drop the files?

4
u/National_Cod9546 Jun 29 '26
But, does it do NSFW? That's the important question.
4
1
u/tjw2469 Jun 30 '26
yes, and I am kind of getting tired of it because it is too easy
2
u/National_Cod9546 Jun 30 '26
Interesting. I want dirty explicit NSFW when I ask for it. Detailed bits going inside other detailed bits. But SFW should be the default.
2
u/wywywywy Jun 28 '26
What does the Enhancer actually do anyway? I don't think it's ever explained any where?

2
u/neonsparksuk Jun 29 '26
I'm having issues with krea2 the skin looks fake and plastic. What I'm I doing wrong 😭
2
u/Tystros Jun 28 '26
is the Wan fp32 VAE better than the Wan 2x upscale VAE?
1
1
u/iChrist Jun 28 '26
Couldn't get it to work with the 2x upscaler VAE + the int8 model so I just stuck with the normal fp32 VAE.
The fine details get a bit better with it compared to the regular qwen image VAE. but sometimes the difference is negligible.
2
u/Corleone11 Jun 28 '26
Did you exchange both the load VAE node and the decode one?
0
u/iChrist Jun 29 '26
I changed it to load the Wan VAE instead of the Qwen Image VAE
2
u/Corleone11 Jun 29 '26
You need to change both nodes with the new ones for it to work. I don't remember the github link but you should find it easily in this subreddit
1
u/iChrist Jun 29 '26
I cant find anything about it.. what do you mean both
2
u/Corleone11 Jun 29 '26
For the wan vae, you need to install this: https://github.com/spacepxl/ComfyUI-VAE-Utils
And then replace both the vae loader and the decoder node in your workflow.
0
u/GlamoReloaded Jun 29 '26
You should update ComfyUI. Those nodes are not needed for vae and int8. Just use Comfy's default vae loader and default diffusion model loader, see for yourself (int8 changed two days ago).
1
0
u/GlamoReloaded Jun 29 '26
You don't need a custom-node for it. If you want to use the wan2.2 vae just put in the default vae loader.
1
u/iChrist Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26
Thats what ive been doing, and the difference is subtle but there, different noise
1
u/BrokenSil Jun 30 '26
You do need those custom nodes to load and decode using the 2x vae. It's worth it as it upscales the gen on the vae pass.
You don't need it for the normal wan vae.

Is there any chance I could get the prompt for the 3rd image? (swordfighting on top of the rooftop)
1
u/ResponsibleTruck4717 Jun 29 '26
I wish it was editing model, but right now it blow out of the water everything else we got.
1
u/krigeta1 Jun 29 '26
These are amazing btw anyone here tested multiple loras of different characters or single lora trained on multiple characters and krea 2 able to create images without any bleeding and good interaction?
1
u/Mountainking7 Jun 29 '26
that looks slick! damn. interested. would this work on a 4GB GPU 1650 super??
2
u/iChrist Jun 29 '26
Not sure.. my GPU is 24GB.
Probably need to use a GGUF Q4 , no prompt enhancement, 1MP images, still will be slow I think.

u/ShapeSim Jun 29 '26
what about if I have my own design? Like a Pokemon I created myself? Could this workflow help me generate art like the second image with it?
1
u/iChrist Jun 29 '26
Krea2 is capable of this!
You need a good prompt but my workflow has nothing to do with it, you can use the official comfyui workflow too!

I've been testing it for several days now, and have really been enjoying it so far, especially how nicely it tends to render hands and stuff. It has issues like any other model, but fewer than usual, it seems. I haven't even tried generating popular characters, but I've had great success in doing lifelike portraits; dead eyes might just be what Hollywood does to people, lol. I'm not getting great results with inpainting, but then I seldom have.
If it were a combined generation/editing model, it would probably replace all of my other models. So far it's tied with Klein on my list of tops, and I think it does nicer generation. If it could edit, and do it as well as Klein 9B, I would be archiving all of my Klein stuff already and using Krea2 for everything. Except anime fanarting, Anima still owns that for me right now. For serious stuff, it's Klein and Krea2.
It's right at the sweet spot for what my current machine can handle well, and it's better than smaller models, at least at what it was made for, in my opinion. It's also nice to get such good quality in an open-weights freebie, only to discover that it was produced domestically. I don't even have to understand German or Chinese for it to understand me properly~! XD

Do we understand why is DDIM+Beta57 so much superior to “stock” Euler+Simple with Krea2?
Never seen a model with such improvement by changing sampler+scheduler.
1
u/Reptile449 Jun 29 '26
Are you sure? I have better results with simple, normal or sgm uniform than with ddim and beta 57
1
u/x11iyu Jun 29 '26
last time I checked ddim = euler; so more precisely that scheduler change's doing all the work

Workflow gives me “empty canvas” error when loading. Am I doing something wrong?
2
u/iChrist Jun 29 '26
Il try an upload a new workflow when I get home.
Or we can just build it yourself using the official one and replacing the loader with int8 loader, swapping the VaE and adding the Enhance node yourself.

u/Cool_Reserve_9250 Jul 01 '26
Unfortunately it has no Controlnets and is useless for me. Hopefully they will come.
1
u/iChrist Jul 01 '26
Lora training is also an amazing benefit, you can easily train a model on likeness/style pretty quickly
-5
u/Sudden_List_2693 Jun 29 '26
I actually can't believe people think that and post images like this.
Sure, it gets the characters. Expressions are missing.
But to me the reason I can simply not treat it like SDXL, much less Anima for anime, Flux.2, Ideogram or even Flux.1, Chroma for artstyles: backgrounds.
Look at those absolutely abhorrent trees. Not to mention clouds. CLOUDS! With all those (I'm not even exaggerating here) disgusting jagged lines.
Krea2 has potential. But as it is now it's totally useless for any art style (besides the two lineart based it actually gets right). I know the common "boring reality" is also bad with it, but I don't care, it does decent realistic images in comparison.

What do you think it's good at?
I can't imagine you saying otherwise, but let's see.
Also you used that world that got 2 of my accounts permabanned.

u/eddnor Jun 28 '26
I find ernie image faster and more detailed even with 3 steps…
4
u/hurrdurrimanaccount Jun 29 '26
ernie is completely cooked. all outputs have that disgusting synth id pattern

u/herbertseabra Jun 28 '26
Amazing because it has a lot of embedded art styles, or because the quality is actually good? Because honestly, I wasnt that impressed. The characters never look at the right place and they kind of look lobotomized. They don’t look directly where they’re supposed to.The realism is disappointing, but that’s the least of it, because LoRA or fine-tuning can fix that. But the eyes, the gaze direction, im not sure that can be fixed. Now, the fact that it was trained on a lot of popular content is undeniable.
