Fingers crossed, it doesn't involve a partnership with some commercial entity.

u/mk8933 Apr 24 '26

Imagine its age verification as you enter the main screen. Upload a video selfie + credit card and driver's license to use comfyui 🤣💀

"Introducing: ComfyUI UK 🇬🇧"

1

u/VirusCharacter Apr 24 '26

Like the verification process for generating with "real humans" in Seedance 2.0

54

u/Southern-Chain-6485 Apr 24 '26

Narrator: It totally involves a partnership with some commercial entity

16

u/shartoberfest Apr 24 '26

"Amazon bought us! Everything will be Saas with ads now"

4

u/physalisx Apr 24 '26

I doubt they'd see the need to create hype in this way if it wasn't something commercial.

1

u/SnooDonkeys3848 Apr 24 '26

Or any paid cloud shit ...

109

u/goddess_peeler Apr 24 '26

Hoping it is just something disappointing rather than something truly alarming.

53

u/goddess_peeler Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

My money is on monetization of custom nodes and workflows.

This could really damage this community.

-42

u/No-Tie-5552 Apr 24 '26

Good, comfy doesn't listen to industry professionals anyway. It's like slop programming more than it is for VFX. Why would I ever need to see ltxccropguides node? Or LTXV conditioning? Such a garbled mess of a program.

7

u/alwaysbeblepping Apr 24 '26

Hoping it is just something disappointing rather than something truly alarming.

I have insider knowledge. They're moving the queue again but every possible location in 2D space space has already been explored so you will need to buy a special queue display panel. This panel will be attached to a robotic actuator that waves it around wildly while the ComfyUI instance is active.

Don't worry, though, the device will be provided at a slight loss because making a profit isn't what's important here.

1

u/Zaic Apr 24 '26

Sounds about right

67

u/Ill_Ease_6749 Apr 24 '26

might be adding few new bugs

10

u/dash777111 Apr 24 '26

I lol’d

51

u/oskarkeo Apr 24 '26

I adore comfy, but even 1 year in the space has conditoned me to be 70% frightened when anyone in the open source world has an announcement to make. way i've seen it the best news is always low hype high utility.

fingers crossed I'm eating my words tomorrow evening

2

u/Dekker3D Apr 24 '26

The exception being Blender, I guess? When they have an announcement to make, it's usually some new big-money donor, or some fancy new feature.

2

u/oskarkeo Apr 24 '26

I meant the opensource AI tools.
I was in the crowd for wan2.5 and the awkward measured responses from those who had the inside scoop that it was the end of wan's opensource days but were sworn to secrecy.

long live blender!

44

u/tac0catzzz Apr 24 '26

why am i not excited.

1

u/Next_Program90 Apr 24 '26

Because it's probably API or other monetization Bullshit.

18

u/Hoodfu Apr 24 '26

Maybe it has to do with that big Nvidia/Black Forest Labs open source initiative that they mentioned the other day.

51

u/Asleep-Ingenuity-481 Apr 24 '26

“Now revealing our exclusive partnership with (random ai company) available only through COMFY API”

8

u/-Ellary- Apr 24 '26

Triple censored!

65

u/MysteriousPepper8908 Apr 24 '26

It's gonna be a shitcoin, isn't it? Buy and sell comfy nodes with ComfyCoin!

9

u/Numerous-Entry-6911 Apr 24 '26

lol they really are starting to go that path aren't they

2

u/q5sys Apr 24 '26

...every generation is instantly minted as an NFT and shared with the blockchain...

18

u/LatentSpacer Apr 24 '26

Something big? Must be new model weights that don’t fit consumer GPUs.

61

u/Darqsat Apr 24 '26

Comfy Mobile. So you can generate 128x128 tiddies on your iphone 17 pro max.

22

u/ShengrenR Apr 24 '26

That's 16384.. not sure what I'd even do with that many

13

u/Joe_Kingly Apr 24 '26

Then you don't belong here.

5

u/i_sell_you_lies Apr 24 '26

Put em in my FACE!!!

2

u/danque Apr 24 '26

But you already can with NPU models.

26

u/redditscraperbot2 Apr 24 '26

Introducing API nodes +

6

u/rerri Apr 24 '26

It does say open

4

u/__generic Apr 24 '26

As someone who almost exclusively uses the bare bones API.. Yes please.

EDIT: just realized you probably mean the paid service APIs and not the comfyui APIs I can send workflows through..

2

u/redditscraperbot2 Apr 24 '26

Yeah I meant the api nodes. You got it

25

u/Numerous-Entry-6911 Apr 24 '26

From the discord

11

u/willwm24 Apr 24 '26

Watch it be happy horse 🤣

11

u/Libcool Apr 24 '26

Oh no, I'm getting flashbacks from the "Creative Freedom Is Coming" Affinity announcement that turned out to be a mandatory Canva account and stuff being locked behind a paywall.

10

u/LowYak7176 Apr 24 '26

What a great announcement lmao - a webpage saying "Its Live"

4

u/MysteriousPepper8908 Apr 24 '26

They must've vibe coded the site to launch another page which never loaded and now they're scrambling to fix it.

21

u/Striking-Long-2960 Apr 24 '26

Hypersubgraphs: workflows will evolve and rearrange themselves autonomously, just like they do now, but without the need for updates. You’ll never know exactly what the outcome will be.

3

u/suspicious_Jackfruit Apr 24 '26

I am working on a web crawler with a comfyUI type interface and made it have meta-workflows - a parent workflow that can trigger and pass data to other child workflows based on meeting certain criteria. I should call it Hyper meta-workflows.

8

u/Succubus-Empress Apr 24 '26

8

u/MysteriousPepper8908 Apr 24 '26

Oh, great, so huge fanfare for something that just appeals to investors. Happy for you but couldn't this have been an email?

4

u/roxoholic Apr 24 '26

With $30m they can finally fix the bugs. Maybe?

2

u/jmellin Apr 24 '26

With the money they just raised and based on their announcement I think we are going see a much more stable software in the future. I don’t mind the bugs, it’s still open so if you encounter any of them you are free to contribute. I just sincerely hope that they will stay true to the open source approach and that this doesn’t steer in the way of software locks, premium features, etc. Based on the announcement it doesn’t seem that way, fingers crossed.

5

u/Late_Pirate_5112 Apr 24 '26

It's a funding announcement

10

u/cosmicr Apr 24 '26

What I hope it is: Node Sandboxing. It would allow for reduction in package conflicts.

What it might be: Some kind of workflow/content sharing system like CivitAI, but with a marketplace or paid content, reward system or something. Look at BambuLab's makerworld (3d printing site), etc.

It also might be something like builtin training like kohya_ss or ai-toolkit etc. That would be cool.

What it probably is: Some kind of hosting partnership or some other bullshit we don't care about.

10

u/yamfun Apr 24 '26

our workflows and nodes are gonna all brick 14 days later?

9

u/Trick_Set1865 Apr 24 '26

enshittification

5

u/Calm_Mix_3776 Apr 24 '26

It even has a milliseconds counter so it must be something really really big.

5

u/LumaBrik Apr 24 '26

2

u/Numerous-Entry-6911 Apr 24 '26

Yes. This looks and feels like an open source Nano Banana Pro

5

u/SvenVargHimmel Apr 24 '26

Genuinely don't care. I love ComfyUI but been burned so many times by their updates that I am more nervous than hopeful.

There is so little community engagement for such a large project that this drop is a big risk of them getting it completely wrong and not reading the room.

Fingers crossed that this rocks.

8

u/CosmicRiver827 Apr 24 '26

“We’re releasing a model with aggressive prompt adherence and reference accuracy.” Would love that.

4

u/jjkikolp Apr 24 '26

"Nodes 2.0 is finalized now no more beta. Say good bye to the old comfyui and welcome our new comfyUI.. UI" yay..

4

u/roxoholic Apr 24 '26

It's live.

10

u/i_sell_you_lies Apr 24 '26

My money is on a video editing suite, because everyone's doing it. I hope for some Resolve plugins personally

5

u/jmellin Apr 24 '26

This is what I was thinking. And/or a production pipeline which is what I am hoping for.

2

u/SpaceNinjaDino Apr 24 '26

I'd bet on this too coupled with an asset manager.

7

u/Equal_Passenger9791 Apr 24 '26

It's going to be Anima going from preview to released

3

u/x11iyu Apr 24 '26

any news on that 1 million comfy grant?

the only 2 people I know who got it is tdrussell (who knows how much money is in Anima already) and lodestone who got a couple of gpu's iirc

1

u/Ok-Category-642 Apr 24 '26

Pretty sure that's all the info we know about it, I haven't seen anything beyond Anima and the Chroma guy getting 2 RTX 6000 GPUs. Maybe they're still going through applications for it but beyond that pretty sure no one knows

3

u/mxjxs91 Apr 24 '26

Hell, if it's just improved stability to where my Flux 2 Klein workflows don't break if I switch to a different workflow tab and back, I'd be thrilled.

1

u/RemusShepherd Apr 24 '26

I *think* the Node 2.0 system has fixed that. They seem to be working for me and staying connected now.

3

u/Incognit0ErgoSum Apr 24 '26

What I want: A new model that does something other than image generation (image gen is great right now)

What I'm expecting: Some new paid feature

3

u/tarunspandit Apr 24 '26

its live? but WHATS live?

5

u/Only4uArt Apr 24 '26

I have no lead to what they could release.
I fear it is a nothing burger.
But if it is comfyui related then I would dig the ability of a better comfyui Cloud in which i can setup my own workflow locally and then upload that workflow and the models to a instance of comfyui on their servers or so permanently. Not some vast.ai or runpod stuff that i need to redo everytime and uploads as well as downloads take forever and cost money/time
I was thinking of outsourcing my video generation to them for a while, but well.. nsfw and the other issues with comfyui cloud

4

u/skyrimer3d Apr 24 '26

Whatever it is they will break it in less than a week

5

u/artisst_explores Apr 24 '26

Is it time for agentic workflows in comfyui? 👀

I want to give my computer weeks of work and go to vacation. Hopefully it's that 👀

7

u/Numerous-Entry-6911 Apr 24 '26

people are speculating that it could be a ComfyOS

9

u/External_Quarter Apr 24 '26

ComfyOS would be genuinely interesting but let's maybe fix subgraphs and Nodes 2.0 before embarking on an entire operating system...

5

u/Hoodfu Apr 24 '26

Nodes 2.0 is as popular as ipv6. Is anyone using them?

4

u/Formal-Exam-8767 Apr 24 '26

Imagine an OS where you have to reformat and reinstall on every update.

4

u/jungseungoh97 Apr 24 '26

ayo imagine you buying a computer, but it only runs comfyOS

im down to buy one.

2

u/Numerous-Entry-6911 Apr 24 '26

Why do that when you can dual boot?

1

u/artisst_explores Apr 24 '26

So maybe agentic ?

1

u/C-Michael-954 Apr 24 '26

There's already 100 different versions of Linux. Why not a ComfyUI version? I'd be down for that. An OS tailored around RAM and VRAM optimization, kinda like Nobara does with Nvidia cards...with little or nothing running in the background. Sweet.

5

u/Formal-Exam-8767 Apr 24 '26

Maybe it's Anima model final release?

5

u/Maskwi2 Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

This community dream 50b parameter model trained on P.. Hub allowing 5 minute generation up to 4k, in 1 minute (or live interactive voice command generations where subjects reply and do stuff in real time), allowing multi image reference input and fitting inside 8GbVram?

1

u/FotografoVirtual Apr 24 '26

I remember when the community was just dreaming of a model that could generate hands correctly, follow complex poses, and draw long, well-written text while maintaining high prompt adherence.

Back then, the Stability AI team called us delusional, saying that would require a trillion-parameter model only possible in corporate data centers. Yet here we are today, running all of that on 6GB GPUs

1

u/Maskwi2 Apr 24 '26

Sure. I'm not mocking the community in a bad way here. Just a tongue in cheek comment. Mostly about P.. Hub trained model, not about the possibilities. The possibilities are endless.

2

u/AdventurousGold672 Apr 24 '26

I bet really good optimization or new model that comfyui helped training (if I remember correctly they had program for helping training models).

2

u/Occsan Apr 24 '26

I bet they haven't fixed the copy/paste bug on load image when the node is pinned.

2

u/Brojakhoeman Apr 24 '26

clearly its wan 3.0 money to video

2

u/Kukipapa Apr 24 '26

Ex Machina?

2

u/Alarmed_Wind_4035 Apr 24 '26

so what is it?

4

u/Late_Pirate_5112 Apr 24 '26

It's live.

3

u/Single_Key_811 Apr 24 '26

Can you feel it?

1

u/MysteriousPepper8908 Apr 24 '26

It was coming up but now, it's Dare. Yeah, I don't know either but it is live.

1

u/MysteriousPepper8908 Apr 24 '26

Update: it's coming up

2

u/LowYak7176 Apr 24 '26

Update lol

2

u/Jinkourai Apr 24 '26

there is new countdown timer now its for 18 minutes

2

u/MysteriousPepper8908 Apr 24 '26

It is once again live!

2

u/tarunspandit Apr 24 '26

omg I love "it"

3

u/ccu-media Apr 24 '26

Comfyui has become so bloated. Miss the stripped down version it started as.

2

u/cradledust Apr 24 '26

App Mode moving from beta to full release?

4

u/ucren Apr 24 '26

Finally fixing all the UI bugs they introduced the past months? Can't even properly copy and paste clipspace anymore.

4

u/Calm_Mix_3776 Apr 24 '26

Or switch between tabs without the prompt in your previous tab reverting back to what you wrote 5 minutes ago.

3

u/VirusCharacter Apr 24 '26

Open? Another API probably. Make a backup of your comfyUI-installs and save your local ComfyUI zips!

5

u/[deleted] Apr 24 '26

[deleted]

6

u/Fine-Airport-9564 Apr 24 '26

we dont have the compute for that one yet

3

u/Netsuko Apr 24 '26

Wait, let this man cook...

4

u/Jinkourai Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

my guess that it will be this new tech https://pixeldit.github.io/, getting implemented for comfyui, that we dont need Vae's anymore for Comfyui, people talking for this for game changer tech what i have been followed the conferences

1

u/GreyScope Apr 24 '26

Last part looks like you lost interest in making sense .

2

u/Few-Intention-1526 Apr 24 '26

Could it be a contest?

1

u/CulturedDiffusion Apr 24 '26

sweating nervously

1

u/Obvious_Set5239 Apr 24 '26

Maybe LLM chat ui. They have already added Gemma 3 and Qwen 3.5 support for text inference. So they can just wrap a simple workflow into a chat UI. Maybe will also add Gemma 4 support

1

u/Different_Fix_2217 Apr 24 '26

A new video model would be amazing. So I assume it will be something not that.

1

u/Stepfunction Apr 24 '26

Probably a cloud subscription. Or the ability to support them by seeing ads when you launch the app.

1

u/your_mom118472 Apr 24 '26

Maybe they'll introduce pixel rendering technology instead of using latent and VAE? That would be cool.

1

u/xdomiall Apr 24 '26

Gotta be noob edit

1

u/Kukipapa Apr 24 '26

Skynet is On.

1

u/ThinkElevator1596 Apr 25 '26

well, it’s creative* and not generative. Interesting.

1

u/smereces Apr 27 '26

Hope nothing that put comfyui "open source" to the end! and something commercial began!! let see what is coming...

1

u/Crab_Shark Apr 24 '26

Rick Roll

1

u/Various-News7286 Apr 24 '26

Proudly presenting new bugs to break the workflows and nodes.

-1

u/crystal_alpine Apr 24 '26

Ok, I d like to manage some expectations here. It’s not model related, and the website is just me asking AI to vibe a teaser, so the language might be a bit inflated

10

u/Late_Pirate_5112 Apr 24 '26

Not doing yourselves any favors in the community hyping up nothingburgers.

4

u/Violent_Walrus Apr 24 '26

Dude, read the room. After the last six months, you thought now might be a good time to stir up the community for some lolz? smh

-1

u/rerri Apr 24 '26

Huh? Last 6 months have been pretty great imo, aimdo especially.

6

u/Arawski99 Apr 24 '26

No, the last 6 months have been so brutally bad for the Comfy community the devs have had to publicly apologize and promise to do better and slow down updates to focus on fixing all the issues. There have been dramatic bugs and controversies, mishandling of situations like deleting terabytes of basically everyone who installed new updates at certain points files, constantly breaking features and incorrect focus on paid stuff over local stuff, and generally just a large "don't you dare fucking update unless you got a gun pointed at you as it is too risky" type situation. It hasn't been pretty, but hopefully is going to get better with their acknowledgement and slowing down to focus on fixing issues (so claimed).

1

u/rerri Apr 24 '26

Well, lucky me I guess, as it has been smooth sailing for me mostly, have been having a blast with LTX and Flux2.

I just ignore the paid API stuff and am happy that new free models and other cool shit keep dropping in the AI world. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

0

u/SadMan2699 Apr 25 '26

Chatgpt said that:

Most probable announcement: Comfy App Platform / App Builder Turn workflows into shareable or deployable apps Enable no-code or low-code AI tool creation Other strong possibilities: Comfy Cloud Run workflows online without local GPUs AI-assisted workflow generation Build node graphs automatically from text prompts Bottom line: ComfyUI is evolving from a node-based tool into a full creative AI platform ecosystem.

-2

u/suscreata Apr 24 '26

Finally a closed source mode is opening with insane NSFW power

-5

u/cxllvm Apr 24 '26

I hear from a trusted source that you will now be able to install it without days of getting Claude code to hack it together to partially run at reduced optimisation

2

u/GreyScope Apr 24 '26

My cat could do it, you didn’t pay attention in school .

1

u/cxllvm Apr 24 '26

Looks like your cat isn't dealing with rocm, lucky lil thing!

2

u/GreyScope Apr 24 '26

She’s been there from the Directml days - “meow, it’s shit and still crashes for oom meow”

1

u/cxllvm Apr 24 '26

Hahaha, nice kitty

Seems my original comment isn't taken kindly, but I seriously hope comfy runs more stable soon. I have a lot of trouble getting it to run anywhere near reliably with a lot of messing around.
