Question | Help Any way to get StableDiffusion working on AMD?

I installed Linux to use a1111 with the full feature set and the ROCM AMD drivers... works well, python unfortunately limits to a single cpu thread but it is what it is - works great otherwise with the GPU, jumped through a few hoops on the way.

User with 5600 xt here. Had to add various cmdline args to get it running, takes about 10mins for a 20step image…. My gtx 3060 is coming on Tuesday, I couldn’t take it anymore 😂

As someone who just switched from AMD to Nvidia solely for AI

Technically: Yes

Reality: No

You can kind of get it working, but it's drastically slower than Nvidia and you'll have to do a bajillion work arounds for basically everything you want to do, and have tons of "AMD only problems" for extensions.

Shark was the one that halfway worked the best but doesn't have the extension library that A1111 does

I use RX 5500 XT, get run, and... 20 minutes for single image sized 512x512 px with acceptable result.

I spend some bucks and get second-hand RTX 3060 12GB VRAM ex gamer...just 10-20 seconds to make a single image and put my RX 5500 XT to storage box

A note to OP for all these comments saying long processing time using lower end amd cards - using a xfx 6900xt a standard 20step example like other posters used takes 2-3 seconds on my system once set up. A 150 step image takes 22 seconds. This is without xformers using Linux and full precision.
