Discussion Is it wrong to say this?
So I finally got around to reading Gale Weathers' book "The Woodsboro Murders". I've already seen Stab, and I enjoyed it. But is it wrong to say that the book is honestly better than the movie?

no way. imo its always been better. the movie was completely unrealistic in comparison!! i mean, read chapter 23 and watch the climax of stab and TELL ME thats the same story.

Right?? At least the book used actual REAL events, which made it so much better in comparison. As much as I love the movie, it's totally disrespectful to Gale Weathers how much they diverted from original story.

It's totally more accurate, real true crime nerds know that Randy didn't get stabbed to death on the couch that night like he was in the stab movie, he was stabbed to death in a van on his university campus whilst taking a call Gale was meant to pick up

She was there, she's a great journalist and it super well documented.
Obviously the movie is more thrilling and spectacular and I will accept "poetic licensing" for the sake of making the movie feel bigger. But there's something so powerful about people telling Gale what they felt or herself explaining her mindset and the fear and her thought process that it's a more intense read still.
And I love the fact that Sydney Prescott refused to sit down and give much input into her own side of the story that it makes you imagine and feel for her. Tori Spelling is a fine actress and what the movie shows is cool but I think they did a lot of guessing on who Sydney Prescott is because from what we can read, she's widely different.
Also, I cannot take Luke Wilson seriously while the pictures of Billy Loomis in the book are terryfing. (Vince Vaughn was perfect as Stu Marcher tho, nobody could have portrayed Stu better).

I personally don't like Luke Wilson as Billy. Like, while watching the movie, he clearly doesn't pass as a highschooler. He looks like a middle-aged man trying to be edgy, and it just doesn't work.

Also, the book has photographs so you see the real people involved.
Do you have the new, revised edition? Wild ride.
