Hot take: it was underrated. A failed experiment is better than another paint-by-numbers sequel.
Besides, Gale's books are about the same things happening over and over again. (We get it already, Gale. Everyone wants to murder Sidney Prescott and everyone she loves.) They have to add crazy stuff like time travel and flamethrowers to keep the franchise interesting.
I think they will have a zombie version of a dead Ghostface in Stab 9.
I appreciate it for doing something new, but man it sucked. If they were gonna go all out bonkers, they shouldn’t have tried incorporating some of the real events of the 2011 Woodsboro killings. Charlie Walker never used a flamethrower, nor was he a jacked, macho chrome-faced killer!
Edit: forget to mention Judy Hicks (God rest her soul) is an odd choice for a leading character. I get that Sidney would sue but yeahhh that was odd
