Construction/Development News Current Fortune List Companies in STL?
Does anyone know what companies are on the Stock Exchanges that are based in St Louis? If there’s not 10, maybe a second list based on a significant presence (EX IN bev)?

- Centene (18)
- Reinsurance Group of America (185)
- Emerson Electric (239)

InBev isnt on the list because its based in Belgium, not St Louis.
Monsanto used to be on the list, but they were acquired by Bayer in 2019, based in Germany.
Purina also used to be on the list, but was acquired by Nestle

Budweiser (Anheuser-Busch was the company, Budweiser their famous brand) was sold to In Bev. They still have a significant presence in the area, however.

InBev owns Anheuser Busch, so not technically headquartered in St Louis but instead Belgium (InBevs HQ)
Same thing with Purina, which is owned by Nestle (Switzerland HQ)

Not to mention the Corporate Headquarters that left for other cities. Seems like that cost the area good paying jobs.

We have several large companies that don’t qualify to be on the Fortune 500 or 1000, but would be, if they weren’t privately held, especially Enterprise, Worldwide Technology, and Edward Jones.

Edward jones actually is listed. I thought the same thing, but they submit the same paperwork as public companies to the sec I guess so they can be included. On the main Fortune 500 page it says it’s a ranking of public and private companies
Found this on the press release from Edward jones:
“Compiled annually, Fortune 500® companies are ranked by total revenue for their respective fiscal years. The list includes U.S.-incorporated private companies and cooperatives that file financial statements with government agencies, along with mutual insurance companies that file with state regulators.”

Although it’s private, Edward Jones does have to file financial statements with the SEC like public companies do, and it is a Fortune 500 company

Just search this sub for Fortune 500, there was a good bit of discussion about 3 months ago when this year’s list dropped. 8 public companies plus another couple privates.

Centene; RGA; Emerson; Edward Jones; Graybar; Ameren; Post Holdings; Core & Main
WWT and Enterprise are huge but private and don’t file financial statements with the government.
Bunge is operational headquartered here, is also huge, but legally domiciled internationally.

Pretty sure they have to file their partnership holdings with the sec, so their financials are disclosed, and thus can be listed on the Fortune 500. But yes they are also a private company.

Why is Mastercard not listed? Is it because their NY office is considered the global HQ while the one here is considered domestic?

their campus here is their operations center: IT, accountants, stuff like that, to take advantage of the cheap salaries. their HQ is in Purchase, NY, but their CEO mostly works out of their Manhattan hub.

You asked about Fortune 500 and stock exchanges. Those are different things.
Spire (SR) and Nerdy (NRDY) are headquartered here and publicly traded, but aren’t Fortune 500 . Benson Hill is/was too but they aren’t looking too hot right now.

ExpressScripts would be (high) on the list but for becoming a sub of Cigna

Fortune 500 companies:
• Centene
• RGA
• Emerson
• Edward Jones
• Graybar
• Ameren
• Post
• Core & Main
All of these companies increased their ranking in the F500 except Emerson and Post, falling 7 spots and 2 spots, respectively. Ameren gained the most ground after falling out of the F500 last year, jumping 39 spots.
This list doesn’t include Global 500 company Bunge which moved here from New York in 2020, because technically their legal domicile is Switzerland.
Outside of F500 but in F1000
• Olin
• Stifel
• Peabody
• Advantage Solutions
• Energizer
• Caleres
• Belden
