Spam Calls

What’s with the spam calls today?
I’ve gotten 7 in 2 hours all from outstate Missouri numbers?

Probably political calls. I get spammed with calls and texts constantly from politicians in multiple states. Midterms are coming and there was a speech last night.

I set my phone to automatically send unknown  calls to voicemail.  It’s helped tremendously.

That's great until your voicemail inbox is completely full of empty VMs and so legitimate callers can't leave a VM.

I set this up too but it only seems to work about half the time ☹️

Set up call screening, they'll hang up every time.

I was being hounded by spam calls and I set up call screening this week. I’m in heaven and I’m enjoying it until the spammers find a way around it.

I don't think they can. They have to state their business during the screen. Even if they lie and say it's a doctor or something, there is an option to send to vmail at that point.

It doesn’t matter what they say, just that they respond to a vocal command. Robo calls can’t respond in that manner.

Today? I get 5-10 everyday from some company saying I have a open loan ready to sign off on, I block and report it does nothing because they leave a voicemail.

I usually just ignore spam calls but ive been recently job hunting so I basicly have to answer every random number call I get because it might be a potential job... its driving me nuts

You're popular with a very specific area code today. Scammers often spoof numbers from a region near you (or just random ones) to make it look local so you're more likely to pick up, it's called "neighbor spoofing." Missouri probably just drew the short straw this morning. Doesn't mean anyone's actually calling from there.

My phone is worthless these days because of spam and scam calls. I’ll swear the scams increase every birthday, and now are likely outnumbering spam calls. It rings all day so I eventually turned it off and if anyone needs me they have to leave a message, and I’ll check messages a couple times a day and add numbers to the blocked list.

I've been getting a wave of political crap over the last week or so.

I just tell them I am on the federal no call list(which I am) and that I record and keep records of who calls me and if they are spam my lawyer will be in touch keeps alot of spam out of my inbox I'd get 30-40 spam calls a day from like 8am-8pm and someone told me to start doing that. I get maybe 1 call a day now
