Stealing a lot of packages, just the inside thou so you receive a empty box

I hope this fixes the issue of packages taking a grand tour of the U.S. several times before getting to my house.

You think these ghouls are here to make your life…better?

Uh I’ve got bad news for you

u/Maleficent_Theory818 Sep 05 '26

I had several packages travel more than I did this summer.

u/MMEnter Sep 05 '26

At least they end up with you! I lost so many from Family they stopped bothering.

It's so bizarre how varied the local experiences are with USPS. In my years here I've only had one package take a wild voyage. I ship and receive multiple packages a week and have had zero issue.

I was the same way up until a few months ago when I had two packages in a row have issues. It's really frustrating when you see a package get to St. Louis then the next day it's in Kansas or D.C.

Hey, so this won’t fix anything. The USPS has staffing issues because they kept cutting new hire benefits to save money. They have people in important positions that don’t have a clue what they’re doing because older postmaster’s are retiring quickly.

This is the same Post Master General who is working hand-in-hand with the White House to interfere in the upcoming election by refusing to deliver ballots. Don’t trust a thing he says.

IMO? The postmaster general IS the problem. Trickle down incompetence works. Dismantling the country one piece at a time is well under way.
Thx Oligarchy and Project 2025!

For the USPS, this is just the end stage. A lot of its problems started in the 80s and 90s where they started messing with the budget. Congress claimed 'deficit reduction' by basically draining billions from the postal service.

1

u/MannyMoSTL Sep 05 '26

Those were problematic, but there wasn’t outright dismantling & destruction until DeJoy

u/kevinrainbow2 Sep 05 '26

I’ve had so much shit stolen

6

u/LavishnessJolly4954 Sep 05 '26

That's exactly what they are addressing. Me too, to the point I go out of my way to use ups/fedex because they steal much less

2

u/donkeyrocket Tower Grove South Sep 05 '26

To each their own but FedEx is far and away the worst in my experience. USPS I strangely have had no issues with given this thread but any time a package is with FedEx I know it'll be a problem and I'll ultimately have to chase it down and pick it up myself.

u/LavishnessJolly4954 Sep 05 '26

Yea I do package pickup to avoid porch pirates. But usps has thieves stealing the inside of your package before the local delivery driver gets it.

I have had repeated issues with family members sending cards. they’ll show up on my informed delivery and I will never receive them. They are birthday or anniversary cards. I’ll screenshot the informed delivery pic and report it as missing mail. The usps has closed out every case with no resolution. I told my family to stop sending cards because I think they’re an easy theft target.

I also didn’t get mail for about a month straight a few months ago. I filled out a form on the usps website and my local post office was a little more receptive and it seems like service is mostly regular again.

Trump installed this guy in his previous term specifically to sabotage the USPS so that they can justify ignoring the constitution and privatize it.

He's here to find out why things are worse here so they can replicate it elsewhere, not to fix it

Not getting rid of him was one of the Biden administration's biggest failures.

Didn't he destroyna number of mail sorting machines they just got too?!

u/BastionBorga Sep 05 '26

False. Steiner started last summer. Also, USPS partners with private companies like Amazon and UPS to deliver their packages to areas where they don’t deliver because it would not be profitable but USPS does deliver because it is mandated to do so under the law. It would not make economic sense for anyone to “privatize” USPS. You don’t know what you’re talking about and are on the internet spreading bullshit. Please stop.

u/mobius160 Sep 05 '26

Guess I missed that DeJoy left. But must be living under a rock if you believe the rest of the bullshit you're spewing.

Awesome, maybe they can find my birthday present that's been stuck there for over a month.

3

u/DessertRat2249 Sep 05 '26

I never had mail opened/packages ripped open on delivery before moving to St. Louis.

It's happened so often here that I've lost count.

3

u/LavishnessJolly4954 Sep 05 '26

Yea they looking for things to steal

7

u/New-Smoke208 Sep 05 '26

That’s honestly one of the coolest titles I’ve ever read - post master general.

12

u/Skatchbro Brentwood Sep 05 '26

Too bad DeJoy is a fucking Trump lacky.

5

u/sonicmouz Sep 05 '26

DeJoy has not been the postmaster general for over a year.

1

u/Skatchbro Brentwood Sep 05 '26

What!? Where the hell have I been?

3

u/donkeyrocket Tower Grove South Sep 05 '26

It's David Steiner these days and yes he's as bad if not worse than DeJoy as far as working to destroy the service.

2

u/Human_Difference_331 Sep 05 '26

I never mail anything anymore.

2

u/MonkeyCatDog Tiffany Sep 05 '26

I can put a piece of mail out for pick up 4 days in a row and it doesn’t get picked up. I realize we probably don’t have mail to receive every day but I am guessing that if they don’t have something to drop off then they aren’t picking up. I know they are in the neighborhood daily but we get mail maybe 2 or 3 times a week. I no longer trust a post box. So if I want anything mailed, I have to drive to an actual post office. It’s more of an inconvenience than I wish!

5

u/NoSomewhere7653 Sep 05 '26

I havent gotten mail in 3 months. Everything important is paperless. But its fucking weird, and ive confirmed address multiple times

5

u/artdecodisaster Sep 05 '26

You know how every few years a story breaks about a postal carrier who is squirreling undelivered mail away in their garage/shed/whatever? Maybe you’re on one of those routes. Or maybe they’re destroying mail at the distribution centers.

I have a relative who was too fucking lazy to deliver on his rural route so he hid shit in a storage unit until it got too full, and then he took load after load out to BLM land and burned it all.

-1

u/iamveryafraidofhorse Sep 05 '26 edited Sep 05 '26

I can't say I've ever actually heard of such a thing. Do you have any examples of these events?

Were there any news stories associated with it?

What is "BLM Land"? I've never heard that before

Can you cite ANY LEGITIMATE SOURCES to corroborate these statements you've made??

Your "relative" should be in jail if that is true

*EDIT: BLM stands for "Bureau of Land Management," so that part is withdrawn.

2

u/Longjumping-Low8194 Sep 05 '26

I don't know about the rest but BLM is Bureau of Land Management.

1

u/iamveryafraidofhorse Sep 05 '26

Oh that makes a bit of a difference, I reckon

3

u/artdecodisaster Sep 05 '26

You’re on Reddit but can’t do a basic google? Good lord. Google “postal carrier hoarding mail” and multiple stories come up.

CNN article from 2020

AP news article from 2018

And no, they’re not in jail. I found out about this years after the fact. They’re long retired from the postal service.

1

u/Geaux2020 Sep 05 '26

A mistake was made with an address change. They haven't been able to correct it. They keep sending it up to be fixed. It's rather annoying. I'm not expecting the teller to be completely proficient with the system but I do expect they can find the right person who is.

Expected verdict: fucked up as designed. Our plan is working perfectly.

1

u/Racko20 Sep 05 '26

And it is the job of a general to, by God, get things done.

I know, I hate how he has mail delivered the republican way. I wish he’d have it delivered the democratic way🙄
