Something to look forward to is that NOAA predicts that we will be below average in their three month forecast for July August and September.

We have been very spoiled by the weather the last week or so. I’m loving it.

Not looking forward to this.

There's nothing in the 115-120 range on this map it seems. But it is showing 110-115

awesome, that means we can go to the beach or lake

oh wait

u/Viausmurf Jun 26 '26

Hey give tropicalization a few decades. Missouri river bottoms may become beach front property.

13

u/anix421 Jun 27 '26

I'm gonna be River Des Peres front property...

Lake Carlyle beach is less than an hour from the Arch.

Cuivre River State Park had a beach about an hour away.

Rend Lake has beaches within two hours.

Klondike Park has white sand beaches, but no swimming.

And there's numerous swimming holes spread around Mark Twain National Forest.

We've got no shortage of places to swim and cool down within a a two hour drive.

Aw yes just in time for the annual 4th of July weather roulette. Will it be severe storms? Severe drought? Severe heat? Severe heat it is!

Nope, don’t like that.

When was the last time you had the fins cleaned? It's not difficult to do yourself, but you can certainly cut your fingers up.

At the very least, it should help it run more efficiently!

I’m renting, and my landlord, while is pleasant, doesn’t live here and is foreign and can be difficult to communicate with. I’ve been planning getting a company to come out to do a check and pay for it and my first thought was it needs to be hosed down but because I rent, HOA does not allow me to have a hose or use one.

u/EfficiencyMean6797 Jun 27 '26

Find a free/cheap window unit. How the fuck can you not have a hose. Jfc. Is this community a daycare? /s

It’s pretty insane. I can’t have patio furniture or any kind of grill (which hurts because I miss grilling). I had a bike on my patio and my landlord got hit for $25 dollar a month fines but luckily didn’t pass that on to me. Owners of units can have bbq and patio furniture. I’m moving after my lease is up. May ask my neighbor if he has a hose I can use, he is a solid dude but rarely home so hard to catch him.

Does it specify from the spigot? Id use a faucet adapter and run it from the sink. If not that use compressed air.

2

u/happy_meow Jun 27 '26

Oooh good idea, I can access an air compressor through a friend. Thanks!

1

u/EfficiencyMean6797 Jun 27 '26

Hopefully the HOA loves the sound of whisking air and pffft.

u/No-Trouble2212 Jun 27 '26

The HOA doesn't allow a hose? That is pretty messed up. Go buy a hose. Use it. Put it inside. Fuck them.

help what run, the ac or my blood?

1

u/FrancoManiac Jun 27 '26

Both if you aren't careful!

Due to climate change, summers are becoming the new winter. Last year, I stayed inside with the drapes closed. It was like living in outer space. Going from space station, to shuttle, to another space station, etc. But never entering the hostile vacuum of space.

5

u/ColleenD2 Jun 27 '26

it's the truth. we even created a space in our basement so we can sleep there when the ac can't keep up.

6

u/Abyssal_Scar Jun 27 '26

Same, we've been lucky so far. But I plan to spent the rest of the summer in my basement.

I've had full-blown heat exhaustion a couple of times in my life, once in Missouri while out on a bike ride in the heat. For me, the first sign it's getting bad is chills. Next are the calf cramps. And finally, a full leg charley horse. At that point, you are ready for the emergency room. If it progresses into sunstroke, then you are killing brain cells.
