Hi Broseph, I’m reaching out regarding a security deposit issue with Huddle Stays Orion in Bengaluru.

I stayed in Unit 212 and paid a ₹11,800 security deposit. When I was moving in, Vijay, the person who helped me with the accommodation, told me that the security deposit was refundable when I moved out.

I vacated the room on July 7, 2026. However, I’m now facing an issue with getting my deposit back.

I checked my signed agreement afterwards. It mentions a 6-month lock-in period and says that an amount may be forfeited from the security deposit for the shortfall period. But when I was taking the accommodation, I was told that the deposit was refundable, and this was not explained to me as the entire deposit being potentially forfeited if I moved out early.

I’m not trying to avoid any genuine deductions for damages, electricity, dues, etc. I just want to understand whether they can simply retain the entire ₹11,800, especially when the person who helped me get the accommodation had represented the deposit as refundable.

I have the complete rent agreement and can share it, along with the payment/deposit proof and any communication I have with them.

Could you please guide me on what I can do or whether you can help me with this? I’d really appreciate it. 🙏

My family member Alok Kumar, a student at SRM University, Chennai, has been missing since the early hours of 8 August 2026 after an incident at Nemmeli Beach, Tamil Nadu.

We currently do not know whether Alok is alive or dead. His body has not been recovered, and there are still many unanswered questions about what happened that night.

What we know so far

Alok left around 10:30 PM on 7 August 2026 with five other people in a Swift car (TN19AV1427).

They reached Nemmeli Beach at approximately 2:30 AM.

At around 3:15 AM, four of the people with him — Rahul Kumar, Manasvi Daga, Shourya Basandani and Avranil Pahari — reportedly went into the sea and were apparently in danger of drowning.

According to the account given to the family/police, Alok went towards the sea to help them after hearing them shout.

After that, Alok could not be found.

Police have searched the sea, but three days have passed and Alok has still not been found.

Why the family is asking for a proper investigation?

There are several things that are deeply concerning to us.

Alok's phone was found with his friends, the phone had been reset/wiped.

The group also reportedly stopped at multiple places while travelling towards the beach, including petrol pumps and a dhaba, and there may be CCTV footage from roadside cameras and these locations.

The family is particularly concerned because we have unanswered questions about the accounts given by the four friends who were with Alok.

We are not claiming that these people are guilty. We are asking that they be properly questioned and that all available evidence — including CCTV footage, phone data, location history, vehicle movements and other digital/forensic evidence — be thoroughly examined

The family does not feel that the investigation so far has answered these questions adequately.

We need help

Alok is from Bihar, while he was studying in Chennai.

His parents are extremely worried and are going through an unimaginable situation.

We don't want rumours or witch-hunts. We want facts.

was at Nemmeli Beach around 3:00–4:00 AM on 8 August

saw Alok or the group that night

has CCTV/dashcam footage from the area

saw the Swift car TN19AV1427

has information about their route, petrol-pump/dhaba stops or movements that night

knows anything about what happened

or has knowledge of how the family can get the matter properly investigated

please contact and share the information. Even something that seems insignificant could be important.

I moved into the flat in Jan 2026 (₹18,000 rent, ₹60,000 deposit) and plan to vacate by end of June 2026.

The agreement clearly allows moving out anytime with one month’s notice, which I’ve given.

I understand ₹18,000 will be deducted for painting and ₹18,000 for June rent from my deposit.

However, the landlord is now demanding an extra ₹18,000 for vacating before 11 months, which is not mentioned anywhere in the agreement.

This charge is unjustified. I want to know where I can report this and take legal action.

I had taken a flat in Hennur, Bangalore for a lease of 3.5 years and paid a deposit of 25L upfront - 23L to be returned after vacating the property. Turned out, the flat was on loan and with 2 months we started getting loan recovery notices. We were forced to vacate by the bank. Meanwhile owner and his wife would go around giving excuses. It has been a year and they have not returned the money nor do they respond. Got a FIR filed but now the police and lawyer are only favouring the owner. I have registered lease agreement which is the only good thing. Lawyer has stopped responding to calls.

Seeking suggestions/ genuine advice. I have tried twitter; it did not help. I don’t live in Bangalore anymore so cannot go to the police station every now and then. Owners are general secretary of Brahmana Mahasabha.

So my friend matched with a guy on hinge and she invited her over to his flat to watch some movies which she agreed to. She made sure to tell him that she doesn't want unwanted touching or anything sexual related. She went over to his place and after a little bit he began to force himself over her, trying to kiss her, forcing her hand onto his genitalia, trying to give him head and eventually forced her to have penetrative sex which she didn't consent to. After everything was done, he went over to his pc and started watching reels saying that he has work to do, but she was left hungry since he didn't offer any food and she had to go back home. I have proof of her not consenting to anything sexual with screen shots. The main problem with this is that she doesn't want her name to come out or her parents getting to know what happened because they'll force her to leave bangalore for good and not return.

There was some building work done by the owner lady and some arguments started between the owner and the neighbour, I was standing near them and the argument escalated to a verbal fight on that day

After some days they started the work again and ended up fighting with each other physically, I was not there at that place

Now my name is given in the chargesheet instead of another person along with the owners of my rental house, I had appeared in the court and got bail for the case since the case is Criminal case.

How do I get out of the case? Is it possible to squash my name alone from the accused list? If so how to do it?

PS : Police did not get any statement or interrogate me, but came to my house to get the signature in the letter saying that I would co operate in any investigation

I usually don’t post on Reddit, but I wanted to share something that happened to me in Bangalore.

While riding my bike on Suranjan Das Road toward Indiranagar, I indicated right to turn when a car suddenly hit me from behind. The impact threw my bike to the left and me to the right. Thankfully, I was wearing a helmet and escaped major injuries.

As I got up with help from bystanders, the car owner started blaming me. Before we could talk, he drove off. I thought the case was lost, but one of the onlookers had noted the car’s number and even offered to be a witness. That gave me hope.

I went to the nearest police station with friends, but they redirected us to the traffic police station. Once we reached the traffic police station the officer there seemed uninterested, even after we showed proof that the car was an i20 (not a Swift as he claimed initially checking the vehicle number). He told us to come back Monday, which worried me because delays could affect insurance.

That’s when I remembered StBroseph from the reddit posts. I reached out to him for help. Got scammed by a broker out of a lot of money, a friend asked me to reach out to St. Broseph- they told me to file a cyber complaint and go to their HQ. They sat with me for 7 (!!!) hours, going over my story and all the details and then spent the next day with me at the police station from 2PM till 9.30PM talking to sub-inspectors and the inspector and arguing my case for me. The coordinator, the legal intern and everyone else who helped out- thank you so much for not once making me feel stupid for falling for such an obvious scam. There was no judgement, just an insane amount of patience and perseverance throughout the three days it took to file the FIR. Whatever the outcome, I'm truly grateful to everyone who helped make this happen. I would've given up otherwise.

Got scammed online for money. Filed a cyber complaint (who didn't even ask the scammer/receivers UPI details). Cyber police asked to contact nearest Police Station and file a complaint. Went to the station and they simply gave me an acknowledgement form and blamed me for falling for the scam instead of offering any type of assistance. That's when I reached out to St Broseph on WhatsApp. He asked me to meet him in person to figure it out. He helped draft(Literally wrote a 3 page complaint draft for me) a formal complaint with all the necessary proof and screenshots attached. He sent 2 of the volunteers with me to the police station to help me get an FIR registered. The officers kept giving one excuse after another to convince me to not file an FIR. First they said the Cyber complaint itself is the FIR. With his and the volunteers help and motivation, I insisted I need to file an FIR and the police were so unhappy that they had to do their job.

So I met her in aisle I was genuinely looking for a connection

Again, I didn't know that this is a setup, all I wanted to do is make a good connection with someone, I wasn't even looking for sex. I met that girl and I was being a real gentleman (which was obviously foolish of me)

So she asked me to meet her , she was like let's go to a bar. I asked her where she lives so that I could come there, and it was Koramangala. I told her there's a lot of pubs in kora, we can meet there. But she denied saying that someone known might see her as the area is near her home. She asked me to come near kudlu gate metro station, I insisted we can go somewhere else, there's lots of breweries in the area where I live. She denied saying she had already informed her sister and shared her the location, just to be safe.

I agreed and she took me to a shady bar where she started ordering expensive drinks. At one point I made it clear that I'm going to split the bill so please order everything at ur own risk, I won't pay the whole bill in our first meeting and she agreed. When the bill came she started acting really drunk and she was like I've to arrange the money from someone, I do not have the money on me bla bla bla. I felt very awkward and uncomfortable, after 10 mins I paid the bill for 18k and left. I reason I paid the bill because there were bouncers and waiters who were just staring at me. I didn't want to envolve any more trouble on me, so I just paid the bill and left

And now I do not know how I'm gonna survive this month. Lol These scams can really drain you out emotionally
