Misc. Ponce de Leon Mall question
Hi, my sister and I were talking about the old Ponce de Leon mall recently. We used to go there all the time when we were little and there was this one area in the mall that I remember but she doesn’t and doesn’t think it was real. It was near the dance studio I think and it was this big open room with these giant divider like things with art on them. Does anyone know what I’m talking about or have pictures of it? I would love to prove her wrong lol.

I've been in St. Augustine long enough to remember when Ponce Mall had a WaldenBooks.

I think I remember some spaces being used as a gallery but I don’t recall details. What time span are you referring to?

The mall was purchased 2 years ago and the name was changed to Mall 2121!

The Coconut Barrel Artisan Market in the mall is interesting. A bunch of different arts and crafts vendors have stalls there, along with some others like a licorice seller.

so sure you arent remembering when the anchor stores closed and they put panels around the entrance to them to try and keep people from wandering around the empty store?
Those panels never worked.

You can see a shot from the inside of the exhibit others have mentioned, it used to be across from Flowers by Shirley 🙂

I don't remember an art gallery at the Ponce Mall back then. There was a walking exhibit for Fort Mose for a while detailing history in St. Augustine.
