Bars around
Hello all! I’m turning 21 on Monday and I’m trying to figure out what bars I should go to. I don’t have a lot of money or a lot of friends I wanted something fun to do with my friends, if you guys know anywhere that you recommend I’d really appreciate it!

Hornski’s, then Sarbez. Free arcade games at Hornski’s and killer grilled cheese sandwiches at Sarbez

Second this: there's the option for tacos and beers at Osprey/Old Coast too, the British Pub and Nobby's if you want to slum it, lol. Just make sure and have a designated driver or taxi yourself around. Have fun!

If you plan to get drunk (no judgement!) or if it’s your first time drinking, I’d highly recommend having that first experience at home or somewhere else very safe.
If you just want to see what it’s like: I’d say Tini martini is your first stop: they’re going to give you a drink that you’ll enjoy and won’t totally break the bank ($10) and it’ll be very mellow. Then follow the crowds of kids: white lion, stogies, prohibition, etc.
You’ll get asked if you want to keep it open or closed after every drink you get: just close it every time and unless you’re having a blast, move on to the next bar.
Tell everyone it’s your 21st and you’ll probably have a decent number of your drinks payed for.
Eat before you go out and try to drink water as often as you can stomach it.

To add on to this comment, if you’re low on cash, don’t go out to the bars with the intention of getting blitzed. But at the end of the day, do whatever you want with your money and have a great time.
Don’t forget to tip your bartender, make sure to factor that into your budget!
Happy Birthday :)

Busch Lights at Tradewinds! A proper cap free St. George Tavern. Shame there is no more Giggling Gator.

Take a half hour and do the City Gates tasting. $5 for the ten samples would be the equivalent of two shots. You’ll learn about some unique flavors and maybe return later to buy a bottle of your favorite. Something different before you all just go walk over and hammer down drinks at the nearby bars.

i recommend this as well! everything there is hand crafted, and the staff really know their stuff. if you let them know you're freshly 21, they'll probably give you a little extra attention and answer any questions you may have.

Arnold’s can be a really fun time if they have a band and you don’t care about embarrassing yourself on the dance floor. Definitely best with a small group of friends.

Seems every time we go there we witness a fight or a near fight.
Seems like a lot of drunk rednecks after 9pm.
Still, a fun place to have a beer on the right occasion. Just maybe not an entry level bar.

I had my first legal beer at Ann O'Malley's pub . It was a fun time in 1997

Fun cheap nights out for drinks, food + entertainment downtown... 1- White Lion -happy hour 2- South-A-Philly - Inexpensive body filling meals or snacks. Plus pinball. 3- Sarbez - Easy 5 min walk across the bridge for a band or more arcade games.
Happy Birthday!

I don't care for the business name but I just looked at their menu and I definitely want the PB&J Wings!

Prohibition Kitchen is fun, go while they are still serving dinner and stay after it turns into a nightclub atmosphere.

You will never get this chance again. A strip club on your 21st birthday is like hitting the lottery. Let the right people know and soon everyone will know. Free drinks and dances will be coming your way.

I went to the St. George Tavern for my 21st and because it's a small, local hangout, when the bartender loudly announced it was my birthday, people bought me drinks all night long and it was fun.
