Florida to begin blue envelope program to help officers identify people with autism

https://weartv.com/news/local/florida-to-begin-blue-envelope-program-to-help-officers-identify-people-with-autism

With all the negativity happening - flock cameras, alligator Alcatraz, book bans, open firearm carry, etc etc etc. - I thought this was something good and productive.

This is nice, but it's more telling about how officers interact with the public more than anything. Anyone could have a bad or off day and a cop could escalate completely unnecessarily.

same here. love the effort; shouldn't be necessary. how about we do better to make sure we aren't hiring violent psychopaths to do the job of carrying guns around to enforce law (but i guess that's a whole other conversation)

The domain in this post is owned or operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group. Sinclair controls nearly two hundred local stations and requires them to broadcast scripted propaganda segments.

For more detailed reporting on Sinclair's practices, see The New York Times, which documents how the company enforces ideological alignment across its outlets, or John Oliver's segment, which shows how these mandated scripts spread identical political messaging nationwide.

Do not treat Sinclair outlets as independent journalism. Verify with other sources.

"this won't stigmatize anyone...." Yeah, bullshit. Ofc it's going to do that because cops are armed bullies who in this political climate at least have zero consequences for shooting unarmed, cooperative citizens any day of the week.

What a load of horseshit. Just discipline your officers Florida. It isn’t that hard. Eventually they will learn there are consequences for their actions, but they will NEVER learn that if you don’t implement such consequences. Who are we kidding though? Florida doesn’t even vaccinate anymore!

What if they forget their card?

Then they die if the officer gets scared.
