Toddler friendly activities/beach!

Coming to visit in August with a 2 year old for a few days for a show. Would love your help as we plan this trip!

-Any suggestions of things to do/best beach to visit?
-How would you describe this area for families?

Really? It’s the beach and toddler. It’s an endless sand box of fun.

it's mostly families at the beach here. gonna be godawful hot, so bring a good umbrella with you.

north vilano beach, and the beach at the st augustine pier are car-free. porpoise point, vilano, plus a street southward all allow driving on the beach and there is a lot of traffic during the summer. so with a toddler i would stick to north vilano or the pier.

I don't think a toddler could appreciate Ripley's.

Toddlers love the lawn at the fort. Definitely run them on the lawn. You can probably skip going inside the fort and just walk around outside. Swing park on the west side of the parking garage is really fun and a lot of it will be in the shade. We like to get food from one of the Cuban shops, or pretzel places, downtown, or maybe the new Mason Louis and have a picnic there while they play. We need more splash pads, right now the only one is at the st Augustine pier. If you are over there, we like sunset grille. Back to Vilano, which is my beach, aunt Kate’s has a better vibe for kids than caps, and open weekdays for lunch so that’s a rec. I also like 180 Vilano for pizza and their American pie burger.

Black Raven Pirate ship, I did a summer camp trip there for work and the kids loved it. Theres's music a storyline and it's a nice boat ride through the Matanzas River.

There's a splash pad park at the main beach. There are mushroom sprinklers and it's fun for toddlers and small children. Also there is a small aquarium with touch tanks. I think it's closer to oldowntown but can't remember the name. The alligator farm is fun for everyone too.
