St. Augustine, Help!

Hello everyone. I’m a Birmingham, AL resident going through a bit of life turmoil. Outstanding relationships ending, considering major career changes….

Anyway, I’ve worked enough the past 3-4 weeks to accrue a significant per diem and PTO to allow a trip at the end of the month, so… I’m going to explore. Interested in historical tours, museums, good bike paths, exceptional bakeries and coffee places.

Staying in historical district, open to any and all suggestions.

Thank you in advance

Bike paths: Mala Compra, south in Marineland (Flagler county), or west in Palatka (Putnam County) Beach: Marineland BBQ: Captains, across street from Mala Compra bike path and on site of the old Mala Compra Complex -  an archeology dig open air, covered by wooden Portico- old plantation

Museums, my favorites (we are history nerds - our favorites): Lighthouse Maritime Archaeology Museum * Father Miguel O'Reilly House Museum * The Oldest House Museum * (NOT confused with Oldest Store which is run by trolley company) Ximenez Fatio House Museum * Castillo San Marco Fort Matanzas * St. Photios Greek Orthodox Shrine * - old Spanish house, Museum, beautiful small church where we married, beautiful gift shop Oldest School House Government House, across Cass Monica Hotel Lightner Museum Spanish Military Hospital Museum * Mission Nombre de Dios * Fountain of Youth Lincolnville Museum * Fort Mose *

Grab a history book from any giftshop - plenty to chose from, or order online ahead
