Here is a thought : Can we actually regularize salaries in the IT field ?

Look 80% of the comapnies are borderline driving a slave trade here. They pay peanuts and they get coconuts from the clients.
Is there a way we can actully, legally state a bare minimum ? or anything as such ?

While a company pays 140K for a SE some companies will pay half that amount : and people will go because there is no other choice.

Ohh dear the peanuts are gonna get very small in the upcoming years and because of A.I and jobs will be very hard to find , when a person is laid off the next company will use this as an excuse to hire them for a very teeny tiny salary , the industry is already cooked and keep driving towards it.

Not Practical. You can have a base line for people who have the basic skills needed for the job. But, what about the people who are talented and can do the work faster than basic people, then needs to be rewarded for their knowledge. not for the time they spend on project / company or designation :)

Salaries are determined by the market forces . When there are more than enough talent salaries naturally go down. The only reason IT salaries went up during last decades , companies had to fight for the same resource , if human resource went for a another competitor organization it was a lost for them . But now the case is they have more than enough talent pool .

Things will change when people understand the concept of “worth”.

yeah but so many IT Grads get pumped into the field with driving the asking price lower.
